Job Description


Purchasing Manager (Direct Materials).

THE REQUIREMENT

Technical Fit:

  • MCIPS Qualified / Engineering Degree desirable: HNC / ONC Minimum
  • Operational / tactical Purchasing -£35m spend responsibility (latest developments likely to increase this level):

  • Focus on direct material required for Production Assembly material, Procurement Program management, Data and Spend Analytics.
  • Technical Engineering / 1st tier OEM Manufacturing Sector Experience.
  • Strong People Manager: teams of 1-15, 3 category managers
  • Supplier development and focus on improving supplier performance delivery OTIF 96% - Target 100%
  • SAP MM and MRP knowledge excellent Super User skills.
  • Demonstrable cost down savings and initiatives
  • Organisational and LEAN skills
  • Demonstrable skills in developing TCO models

The Successful Applicant

  • You will be a qualified Procurement Professional, and have proven and demonstrable experience of procurement within a highly complex engineered product environment. Further you will have experience of managing a team of purchasing professionals and driving increased value from the supply chain.
  • The successful candidate will have highly developed commercial negotiating skills combined with the man management experience to drive a performance from the team. You will possess excellent communication skills and understand how to develop internal relationships to ensure Procurement partners across the whole organisation.
Requirements

  • MCIPS
  • Engineering degree desirable: Minimum HNC / ONC
  • Purchasing experience within a technical engineering / 1st tier manufacturing sector

  • The ability to manage and coach team members and wider stakeholders to drive maximum commercial value from their technical knowledge
  • Ability to drive behavioural change
