Location
acquiring satelites...
My state only has one testing location, which is 186 miles from home. Not a bad drive, but there's now a winter storm warning in effect for tonight through tomorrow. I have always planned to be there tomorrow...which I hope is still possible because of the roads.

How long is the drive for everyone else?

Stupid PE and it's stupid one test center and stupid weather and stupid traveling and stupid calculator policy.

i guess i'm lucky, as i only have to drive about 20 miles south to albany

Albany isn't a BIG city, less than 100,000 people.

But we luck out (maybe because its the capital) and they hold the test here.

Free parking and plenty of it for everyone.

I have heard some horror stories about people taking it in NYC and riding the subway with their books or

trying to drive and having a tough time parking.

i've taken the darn test so many times i have a reserved spot on the lawn to relax at lunch and eat.

I have to drive about 3.5 to 4 hours to get to my test... parking downtown will cost me $14...

At least I have a family friend's house to stay at, so I save on the hotel... which reminds me I better print off the directions they gave me!

1,741 miles. If I pass, I get reimbursed for it. If I dont pass, I go down about 800 (flight, car and hotel). Ah, it's still something that has to be done...

Where do you live, Alaska?

I have to travel 120 miles, which isnt bad, but I luck out because the exam will be in a conference room of a hotel, which I have a room in. Friday morning its up, bring everything to the car, back to room for my exam crate, checkout and wait outside the exam room.

Yesteryday is was more or less bone dry with absolutely no snow.... Nothing but ugly brown grass everywhere...

This is what I have woken up to... But apparently it is not snowing in the exam city....

And to top it all off, I have been awake since 5am as I couldn't get back to sleep... But I think I will be fine.

Good luck to everyone else!

Regards,

Casey

And my neighbours next door... I hate them.
Wow! I was about to say I hope you like your neighbors (all of them) b/c you can pretty much see what everyone is doing, all the time, right from your back window.

I was planning to ride the Greyhound bus midnight and be there on 530 am, about 500 kms travel to the site.

When i took the exam in 2 yrs back, i had to drive only 1.5 mile (living close to reliant center) :D , but i paid 7 bucks for parking.

About 50 miles. Did the FE last year and stayed in a hotel nearby, but it wasn't really worth the time/effort/$. Plenty of parking. I'll sleep better at home...as long as the kids do!

Blessings on your brains! Let's kick some units in the butt.
