Has anyone found an in-line energy dissipator in CMP? I have a client that will be redirecting an irrigation ditch from a earthen ditch via a CMP culvert down a steep slope. The client is worried about the velocity of the piped ditch water entering a receiving ditch. I've checked Contech's website, and did not find anything there. Links to specs and drawings would be helpful. Thanks!

Yeah, I had found some flared end sections, but the outlet MIGHT be submerged, so I'm looking for more of an in-line dissipator. I found a patent for an energy dissipator ring, but can't seem to find a manufacturer of one.

Edit: I've also thought about rip rap, but that doesn't make much sense for a submerged outlet.

FL, we've used riprap for submerged outlets here with some sucess.

I also thought of an impact box like some of the western states use. That may only be applicable to low tailwater conditions.

A problem we have here with riprap at outlets is improper installation - not using a filter fabric or sand/gravel filter to keep fines from sucking up from under the rock.
