[SIZE=10pt]Your main responsibilities as the Senior Engineer, Common Infrastructure Product will involve: [/SIZE]
[SIZE=10pt]Specifying requirements and detailed design of the CCS Common Infrastructure, including Virtualised Processing, High Resilience networking, health monitoring, display solutions, storage and cabinet solutions, and Built in Test[/SIZE]
[SIZE=10pt]Developing and integrating software for the CCS based on various UNIX, Linux and Windows platforms[/SIZE]
[SIZE=10pt]Agreeing the Statements of Technical Requirements and technology deliverables to enable Common Infrastructure subcontract procurement[/SIZE]
[SIZE=10pt]Defining and undertaking evaluation, prototyping, test and acceptance activities that ultimately support issue of the Common Infrastructure Certificate of Design[/SIZE]
[SIZE=10pt]Supporting definition of the Common Infrastructure development road map in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and through liaison with procurement and technology providers including software/design houses[/SIZE]
[SIZE=10pt]Owning the assigned programme of work and delivering to schedule, cost and quality, including through provision of progress reports and identification and active response to risks/issues[/SIZE]
[SIZE=10pt]Supporting informal testing [/SIZE]
[SIZE=10pt]Measuring Network and storage server performance[/SIZE]
[SIZE=10pt]Evaluating prototyping, formal design phase and specification tasks[/SIZE]
[SIZE=10pt]Developing and maintaining changes to existing software applications[/SIZE]

- [SIZE=10pt]Qualification to degree/HNC level in an IT/engineering-related discipline, or Chartered Engineer status, or experience which would enable attainment of Chartered Engineer status or equivalent[/SIZE]
- [SIZE=10pt]Experience in requirements specification and detailed design for complex and processing-intensive systems is essential[/SIZE]
- [SIZE=10pt]Good level of understanding of Software Development (PowerShell, C# and Java) with an understanding of VMware, networking and storage is essential[/SIZE]
- [SIZE=10pt]Experience in the defence industry is essential[/SIZE]
- [SIZE=10pt]Experience in developing software interfacing with virtualised environments is desirable[/SIZE]
- [SIZE=10pt]Experience in Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is desirable[/SIZE]
- [SIZE=10pt]Experience in multicast and TCP/UDP would be advantageous[/SIZE]
- [SIZE=10pt]Experience of the design, development, test and qualification of products in a military environment is desirable[/SIZE]
