I passed the PE in April 2007, and then passed the California PE seismic specific in April 2008. I skimped on the books the first time for the seismic portion and regretted it. I am purely a civil and do no structural design, so these books are just collecting dust and need to go. -Essential Equations for the Civil PE Exam Using the HP 33s, ISBN 1-59126-057-4: $30;

-Practice Problems for the Civil Engineering PE Exam, A companion to the Civil Engineering Reference Manual, 10th edition, ISBN 1-59126-048-5: $25, I bought this book and used a friends 8th edition CERM and saw no difference, but I don't know what changes were made to the 11th;

-345 Solved Seismic Design Problems, Fourth Edition, ISBN 1-888577-35-5: $15, This one is based on the 2001 CBC, so I don't know if it is helpful with the current exam, but is the same one still being sold on PPI.
