nevermind I found the text article. I thought it might have been military related. I hope my FIL doesn't see that otherwise he will use it as an instruction manual for the bunker he is basically making his basement.

 
during a building demolition, they encountered a forgotten bomb shelter from 1962. It had a whole bunch of "supplies" to support occpants in the event of a nuclear attack. Food rations, barrels of water, toiletries, etc. It's a pretty neat find.

This is interesting, especially since I keep seeing commercials for that Doomsday people show (could I be more vague?).

 
The school in my hometown had a fallout shelter/tornado shelter. I wonder how much in Federal funds was spent nation wide on these projects. I know in our case, it paid off several times as a tornado shelter.
