ILS Engineer

£50bn of 70bn of UK government spend in next 20yrs will be on Maritime programmes. From our headquarters in Portsmouth, BAE Systems Maritime Services delivers end to end support to over 50 per cent of the Royal Navy's Surface Fleet. Our services include: ship upgrades & repairs, dockyard facilities management, provision of combat systems training, the development and support of the Royal Navy’s complex equipment such as radar, torpedoes and small boats and direct support to future warship design. The 2016 arrival in Portsmouth of the Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carrier demands a significant capital build programme as we reconfigure the dockyard and prepare our teams to support these iconic ships. With approximately 3,500 employees based at five UK locations and revenue of £650 million we are proud to support the Royal Navy in global operations.

The Type 26 Global Combat Ship will be a globally deployable multi-mission warship, capable of undertaking a wide range of roles from high intensity conflict to humanitarian assistance. The UK programme to develop the ship for the Royal Navy is well underway with the first ship due to enter service in the early 2020s and will remain in service beyond the middle of the century.

With teams around the UK working to develop a detailed design and support solution for the ship ready for manufacture, the Type 26 Global Combat Ship programme is currently offering an opportunity for Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Engineers.
