As an Electrical Engineering Consultant, you will be able to use your subject matter expertise to identify opportunities, develop tailored solutions and support their implementation and delivery across the business whilst also being involved in the Research & Development of new products for both the land and maritime markets.
This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to join our expanding technical consultancy team, providing technical leadership, working across a diverse portfolio from carbon profiling & strategy, infrastructure solution development (i.e. SMART grids, PV, CHP, LCHN, LSBS etc.) and project delivery support to helping our wider engineer team optimise maritime systems, products and platforms on the Net Zero Carbon (NZC) road map.
Your main responsibilities as an Electrical Engineering Consultant (Energy & Carbon) will involve:
Working with customers to understand their carbon profile and develop their NZC roadmap
Developing effective energy and low carbon solutions (generate, recycle, storage, monitor & control) in the form of feasibility studies and business cases through to detailed design and installation e.g. PV, CHP, low carbon heat networks, heating systems, battery storage, hydrogen, carbon capture and energy management systems
Providing cross-discipline expertise and oversight of design development
Design management and integration of sub-contractor products, systems and solutions
Generating new ideas and collaborating with our R&D team to develop new energy & carbon reduction products
Analysing, defining, evaluating, planning and delivering solutions to assigned engineering activity to meet programme, business and customer requirements
Providing discipline expertise input to policy and strategy development within the IBP
Ensuring defined objectives are achieved whilst continually maintaining quality and other requirements
Your skills and qualifications as an Electrical Engineering Consultant (Energy & Carbon):
Essential:
Degree or equivalent qualification or experience in STEM subject/Engineering (e.g. Electrical, Mechanical, Renewables)
Knowledge and understanding of Energy systems and products e.g. PV, Carbon capture, EV Charging, low carbon heat networks, battery storage, dual fuel exploration
Understanding of design integrity and safety for products, services or sub-assemblies of low value, technical complexity and commercial risk
Experience in developing low carbon energy solutions
Experience in developing compelling business cases for investment
Desirable:
Experience working across disciplines including electrical, mechanical, renewables, structural and civil engineering
Experience of Carbon Profiling and developing NZC Roadmaps
Chartered Engineer or in process of achieving professional accreditation
Experience supervising/leading a team
