    Are the John Camara books worth it?

    In my opinion Camara sucks. The book has numerous errors that seem to never get fixed. If you search this board you will find tons of questions by people who have numerous issues.

    Another great resource is the NEC handbook. Its is just the same exact document as the NEC but has ton's of figures and photos.

    Single line to ground fault

    There are no formulas to memorize. If you look at chapter 5 of the NCEES reference manual the current relation ships are listed. All you need to do is apply Kirkhoff laws!

    I think I understand your question Z=sqrt(r^2+x^2), but this is not how the equation works.  your principle would work for single phase load but would have to account for the supply and return.

    Sorry Where do you see "Z"  The current, and circuit length dont really matter.  Plug in the values of A,B,C,D, and the voltage drop can be quantified.

    NCEES Reference Handbook 4.3.1.6

    Looking at the handbook 4.3.1.6 for the power exam, I think the equation for the transformer loading is incorrect.   I think the KVA ratings are backwards.  Any input?
