    Specific Seismic Question

The context that I understand these relationships is that they are used to calculate Cs when you already are using the Fv from table 5.2 to calculate your SD1. Basically what all this is saying is that to use the SD1 that you get from using the Fv from table 5.2, you would then have to use a...

    December 2020 Results

It looks like people that passed in November were notified around the 21st of December. So guessing a similar timeframe

    December 2020 Results

The drawback of feeling like the results came out fairly speedily is that it's feeling like an eternity to get the license number/confirmation

    December 2020 Results

It's interesting they said that, I felt like a lot the homework problems were harder than what was on the exam. Especially in Samir's chapters. I actually didn't do the practice exams and just did my own focused studying at that point. I did feel like the workshop videos were more valuable than...

    December 2020 Results

Just found out I passed surveying. I studied with EET, and I think I've seen you post about using it as well. I think it was good about being complete, but didn't do a good job about presenting information and the course was not very polished. Sort of haphazardly put together, but it did have...

    December 2020 Results

Hey you still have a chance, I feel like a good portion of surveying can be done by just having decent trig and algebra. Heck I figured out the one I was most stuck on by just throwing the available answers into the distance formula and not actually doing the intended process.

    December 2020 Results

I'm sure I can't be the only one who procrastinated through Q3 and Q4 and took an exam in December.  Took surveying right before Christmas and it's the last exam I needed. Feeling pretty ok, but super antsy for results.

    Exam Rant!

Checking upper and lower limits for forces in seismic absolutely killed me when doing practice exams. It's like you're rushing through so bad but there is this check you essentially have to do to avoid the risk of gambling on a question not requiring it

I wish the exam results had tracking info like a shipped package. This has that same feel as waiting for something you really want to arrive magnified by 1000

Everything you wanted to know about the CA-Survey/Seismic Civil PE Exams

I did the same for WRE, I feel your pain. I was thinking that you could run some screen recording software while the videos are playing and you're doing something else to make a clip that you could speed up on a seperate video player.

Everything you wanted to know about the CA-Survey/Seismic Civil PE Exams

So am I reading the new CA application process correctly: You can take the 8-hour as soon as you graduate You need to pass the 8-hour exam(maybe?) and have the qualifying experience to apply then sit for the CA specific exams (60 day approval+scheduling) and take home ethics Pass all the...

    # of Hours of study & prep

Passed Civil:WRE first time with probably ~100 hours. I took the on-demand EET course for both breadth and depth. I watched the lectures after work and weekends starting in early January, took a four week break in February for a trip, and continued prepping up until the exam. I hardly did any...
