Graffeo, NCEES, and Camara practice exams (the only three I did) are far too easy compared to the real exam.

No they are already well into the Os I think 100669 is the latest so far. The seem to do them in batches throughout the day. They'll probably be done with everyone by Thursday. I also got mine too. Time to really relax now.

I agree with everything you said. The official NCEES exam sample is laughably easy compared to the exam (I said so in their survey). Graffeo is a good book in it's own right but not very helpful as a reference in the Oct 2018 exam. Exam was mental. Still have no idea how I passed that thing, on...

Interesting. Does this mean that in other states, people take the exam without registering with the board? In NY state, you have to be approved to take the exam by the board (education, references, EIT, etc) so after taking/passing the test, there are no further steps.

Yes. I studied for 4 months at a very slow pace. Set the time aside and dedicate yourself to making the most of that time and you can do it.

Very similar story to yours. Graduated in '08 with a BS in EE. I took and passed the FE in Dec 17, then took and passed PE Power in Oct 18. Overall, I found Graffeo to be a very good book to study from but ultimately unhelpful in the exam. I probably referenced it for approximately 5 questions...

Prior to taking the exam I felt really good about Graffeo. It is very well written and very easy to understand. Any topics that were covered in that book were no problem in the exam. I think the overall pass rate for power (43%) confirms how difficult the exam was. I even more grateful to have...

The retakers for power 😱. It was my first attempt but I found the exam to be terribly difficult (and very unlike the NCEES practice exam). No idea how I managed to pass. I've seen people who scored 60% and failed.
