Has anyone heard of anyone using the book above?

Board inefficiencies aside, congrats on the extra licensure!  I finally got my NCEES record through and excited to start expanding.  To switch it up about bit, which type of projects will you be working on in AZ and where will they be?

The majority of the frustration for me is that they require specifics, like the names of projects.  This does not strike me as a request that an engineer would make, because the value of the project is not in it's title.

People rave about Hiners but I found that it wasn't very helpful.  The EET seismic is a must have and i still use it in practice!  At the end of the day, they're all references to ASCE 7-10/CBC so you'd be better to know the code and use supplements as time enhancers.

This is a topic that I'm interested in.  I plan to start marketing more in other states, and Arizona is close by!

I'm impressed that you got the NCEES record settled in the first place!  They're still reviewing my experience.  Granted, I didn't quite put too much effort into the Record application on the first round.

Does anyone have experience with the process of qualifying for and/or obtaining a GC license in either California or elsewhere?  I am interested in any advice that may be available.  Thanks!

I have to say this is step one.  If you are not required to stamp or sign off on the drawings, I would resort to alternatives before going down the report road.  While it is not your job to teach engineers who are not willing to put the time and work in, the professional courtesy is the best...

I've been slowly catching up to RISA.  I am competent and use it frequently, but I don't quite love the feel of it.  I am very interested in VA, which I haven't hear of previously.  Do they update frequently?  What are the limitations of the program?  What's the best way to get more info on it?

Enercalc is an excellent program for beam calcs and 2d analysis, and the RetainPro (same company) update made the program very useful.  You do have to know what you're doing in calcs because bugs do present themselves on occasion.  I'm interested to know in the consensus opinion on enercalc vs...
