    CERM old version vs new

I also used the 10th and passed the 8-hour last October. I had used the 10th to study for the EIT and the PE, it also has been (still is) my main reference I use at work. I did take a look at the 13th before my test, just to see if it would be worth the purchase. I did not find too many things...

    CA wall certificates

A little off topic, but I just noticed the other day that all of the text on my wall certificate is crooked. The seals and boarder is straight just the text is off. Not a big deal, I'm just glad to have it finally hanging on my office wall. Anybody else from CA have this "problem"?

    PPI2PASS - WR&E Depth Online Review Course?

matt267, this may not answer your question directly about the PPI classes or any review class, but hopefully it will help you decide. I took the WR&E exam in April 2013 and failed. I did not take any review courses, just worked problems from almost all of the problem & solution books...

exam result for CA special exam

I was a little bummed last night after I got my "passing email" because I was still in the waiting game. Then I came into work this morning and found my name on the BPELSG website. Now it's all good and definitely going to be a great weekend. I might as well go home now because I am definitely...

How many years out of college were you when you got your PE??

High School - 1983 No college degree EIT - 2006 CA Surveying - April 2013 Civil WR&E - October 2013 CA Seismic - April 2014 So, 31 years since I graduated from High School or 49 years since I was born. Either way it was the longer less traveled road...

Civil: Water Resources/Environmental vs. Environmental only

Ptatohed has an excellent point. Figure out what you are going or want to do with your license before you think about switching exams. It might be better to gut it out with the WR&E and have more options available. Since you are working as an Environmental Engineer now, ask around at your...

Civil: Water Resources/Environmental vs. Environmental only

First, "easier" is only relative to the person taking the exam. Don't get caught up in all the chatter about which exam is easier, the other exams are always easier than the one you took. I suggest taking a couple of weeks to be pissed off, clear your head and then get ready to hit the books...

    Elevation Stake

The calc'd answer is Inv.El. 149.54. The "best" or "closest" or "most near" answer would be 149.71 "D". Slope of the surface grade is irrelevant. The slope of the pipeline (0.25"/LF)*110' = 4.375' of fall. Ground elevation (160.0) - 3' cover - 1/12' wall thk - 3' pipe ID = Inv.El. 153.92 at...

Failed Exam - Register for April 2014

It's not a start-over, just a re-focus. Don't jump right in and start grinding out problems, take a short break and hit it hard after the start of the new year. Always, keep your eye on the prize. I had to tell myself these same things after I received my seismic "fail letter" last Friday. It...

    California!

Side question, does anybody know if we get a passing letter from NCEES? Or is it just the "passed" on your NCEES account? Not that it really matters right now, I'm just curious.

Failed Exam - Register for April 2014

Stealth, here is my 2-cents. Pare down your morning books to 1 maybe 2 and add another 2-3 for your depth. That's it. Use just these books for every practice problem and practice test. Take timed tests. I used a free app called iExam Pacer Lite. You can set it up for any number of questions and...

results for CA specific engineering exams

I am not sure if this will help, but it may give an alternative/additional method for preparing for the survey exam. Speaking only for the surveying exam, I passed the first time (seismic not so much, still working on it). Studying for the exam, I read and completed most of the problems in...

    California!

Unless there is another database, not all of the disciplines have been posted. In May, I received a letter for passing surveying and another letter for failing seismic. My response was to veeru's post.

    Expedited Results through CBT

No letter(s) in today's mail (Sacramento area). Did anybody get a letter? Last time I received the fail letter pretty quickly. This time: no pass letter, no fail letter, no number on the site...nothing from CA.
