    WA State SE III

The state board has updated their website to reflect the endorsement of "structural" on my license. If anyone is still waiting for their results by mail you might be able to see if you passed by looking up your license. I can't guarantee they have done all the updates. Best of luck!

    Washington Structural III

Brian, There is a large discussion of this in the PE Exam Prep Forum in the PE Exam - Disciplines (Structural) section. If you can't find what you are looking for ask in that forum and I will glad to help. I just took the exam in October and passed it. Where did you find the 20% pass rate...

    WA State SE III

I passed the Washington SE3! Does anybody know what the requirements are for reciprocity to California? In the past I have passed the Civil, SE1 and SE2. I am hoping I don't have to take any more exams. I'm not sure if I have to take the California surveying and seismic exams. I'm pretty...

    WA State SE III

I would be surprised if they asked detailed questions in regards to steel shearwall panels. I didn't study them very much for the exam and if I took it again I would spend little time on it. They are so new to the code and not used very frequently that I personally feel if they ask detailed...

    WA State SE III

The SE III in WA is all about Seismic. The SE II was more general. I was able to finish the SE II with just enough time. The SE III was more difficult to complete in the time given. I didn't finish the morning portion and it could be why I don't pass this time? It wasn't that I didn't know...

    WA State SE III

I also took the October SE III exam in WA. Unfortunately I know nothing about passing rates or scores for this exam. I am guessing we won't here anything until mid February at the earliest? Good Luck

    SEII Exam Strategy

I took and passed SE II. I skipped around a little bit and left room in the workbook to come back if time permitting. The problems that I had for each session weren't equal in time so be carefull with time management. I would recommend attempting the problem that looks easiest to you and then...

AISC Seismic Design Manual: eccentric weld groups

Let us know if you hear anything from AISC. I plan on doing hand calcs. also if it comes up on the exam but either way will probably be ok.

AISC Seismic Design Manual: eccentric weld groups

I saw the same issue with the two different methods to calculate weld size. I don't know the answer to that but perhaps it is worth emailing AISC? The location in the steel manual (13th edition) for the discussion of 1.25 avg stress is on page 13-11 under the section "Available Strength".

    AISC Seismic Provisions 341-05

You are correct sir. I didn't read the thread thoroughly. Sorry about that.

    AISC Seismic Provisions 341-05

I may be missing something. My book appears to be designing example 3.11 p. 3-65 with the correct forces. The tension force used in the design is 622 kips and the compression force used is 631 kips. I know that some of the older printings of this book were poor and possibly I have a newer...

    Structura II

Yes, the two tests are different but are the same int that they both are mainly covering advanced seismic topics. The formats are also different as I said before. They are both only offered in the fall (once a year). The October 2007 CA exam was based on UBC. You had to know both ASD and...

    Structura II

WA SE3 - Essay format CA SE3 - Part multiple choice and part essay From what I have heard they mainly cover seismic analysis and design. It looks like studying more advanced seismic analysis issues would be the way to go.

    Structura II

Just got my SE2 also and am considering going for the SE3. Two questions: 1. Can we take the WA SE3 1st and then the CA civil/seismic in that order to get our SE3 in CA? Or does one need to pass civil/seismic 1st then get their SE3. 2. Is it possible to have the test proctored in your...

    NEW YORK - RESULTS

That is very odd. You definitely need to get on the phone for clarification. I am still waiting for my SE2 results.

    Structura II

Congrats nperr!!! That was the SE1 that you took in October 2007 right? Has there been anyone who took the SE2 in October and received their results?
