    One month to go...

    I took/passed the HVAC exam last april and the ASHRAE books were a lot of help for definitions and thermal properties of food, etc., things you won't find anywhere else. I would definitely bring them if you can.

    Response From Employer

    Passed the April exam. Been stamping drawings since I got my license. Employer finally got around to telling me today I won't be getting a raise. Bummer, guess i gotta dust off the old resume.............

    Can I take PE without 4 yrs exp?

    Also, the 4 yrs experience has to be achieved by the application date, not the exam date. My 4 yrs fell in between the application date and the test date. I had to wait an extra 6 months for the next application period in TX.

    April 2010 Passing Poll

    TX gives scores. I think VA does as well, but I'm not sure.

    # of Hours of study & prep

    Took the Mechanical PE Exam for the first time in April 2010. 5 yrs out of college. Took the testmasters review course. About 100 Hours of class. Spent about 60 hours studying outside of class, practice problems, tabbing ASHRAE manuals, MERM, etc. Took HVAC depth, passed with 87.
