    Average Age to take FE/PE/SE

My school required you to take the FE at least one full semester prior to graduation. I was a December grad so I ended up taking it 3 semesters before graduation. FE at 21. PE at 31.

I was dreading the same thing! I called and finally got a voicemail Friday, at the end of the workday, saying that they just send over everything you send them plus the PASS letter. whew.

I finally got a response from CTS regarding those who passed. They actually forward your whole packet (everything you sent to them) to the state with your Pass letter when you pass.

Do you still get a letter or just online?

IL uses CTS (Continental Testing Services) for exam administration. They sent letters in the mail last week (I passed!). I haven't received anything from NCEES (thru email, nor thru snail mail) and it also wasn't updated on my NCEES account.

That was themost confusing part of applying. Nowhere does it mention who the experince should be sent to, or if it should be submitted separately from the exam application. I submitted everything together, but worried whether that was the correct process... or not?

I was notified this morning that I passed PE exam. Can I put 'P.E.' title on my signature block now?

There is a post about halfway down the thread on the link below that includes an email and a link to the IL rules. I know a few people who took that route. I believe it went into effect in 2010. http://www.engineerboards.com/lofiversion/...php/t13800.html

Great question, interested to hear the answer. Also, an engineer I work with says IL stopped giving scores for passing exams years ago, even though other states still do it. I was wondering if that's true....

when to "quit" studying for exam?

I just finished loading the books into the boxes and put away everything related to it. Tonight is all about reality TV and the DVR I've neglected for the past month and tomorrow I'll probably hit up Macy's and do some shopping... retail therapy always relaxes me. I'm done studying and now I'm...

Thanks for the heads up on the site. This site has been a great resource in my prep over the past year... it all goes down in 36 hours. Good luck to everyone else out there taking it Friday, and thanks again to all of the site members who shared their advice and experience. :appl:

Allowed books for Illinois PE exam

I too am testing in IL this April and was told the same thing. Printed books in 3 ring binders or spiral bound are ok in their entirety. I didn't know about the handwritten notes part though. A lot of people I know in other states have "equation sheets" they used.

    architectural Engineering PE April 10

RED, do you recall which electricians exam manual you used? I'm trying to find a better reference for electrical. I checked the PE ref manual out at the library and it seems very minimally helpful.
