How Much of Pay Raise after PE Certification?

The most important thing is you love what you do, and I love being a business owner for a fully licensed Mechanical Engineering & Contracting Co. I'm confident my current business will be worth several million in 5 to 10 years (I sold my first business for nearly a mill in 97) -- I'd rather...

How Much of Pay Raise after PE Certification?

This is the problem I have with being an engineer for a company. I currently make 128k base for a Fortune 10 firm with 1st tier MBA & Engineering degrees, and I hope to quit my job in a year or two -- the poor engineers make squat. With the business I operate parttime with fulltime...

    Architectural Engineering PE

So how come almost all of those on your list don't offer AE? As I stated earlier, the one's that offer AE are extremely low-rated engineering schools -- if rated at all.

    EIT without Bachelors

For the people that acquire PEs without proper national NCEES requirements -- you're an Insurance Liability that Lawyers would love to make an example of. You not only have no chance of Comity but also are a legal liability in the court of law.

Is it true that you don't have to be an engineer in some states to obtain a PE?

As I said -- I'm probably the only one in the country that achieved my status :party-smiley-048:

NCEES upcoming new Bachelor plus 30 rule for PE licensure

It's ironic in that you currently have people (some that even post here) that don't even have a degree obtaining PEs -- lol

Is it true that you don't have to be an engineer in some states to obtain a PE?

Houston we have a problem -- I believe GE, GM, & NASA still function in the 21st century. The fact that they've been around(except NASA) proves my point. I quess if you're probably the ONLY person in the USA (unless proven otherwise) that is a state certified HVACR contractor & PE...

    Depth Modules for Afternoon Exam

I"m surprised your state would allow someone with an MET degree take a PE exam since it's not a real engineering degree.

NCEES upcoming new Bachelor plus 30 rule for PE licensure

Any state that would allow people without an accredited BS degree take a PE exam is plain ignorant -- adding 30 credits isn't fair either. I quess morons that can't graduate from an accredited school should go to a moron state to get a PE.

ASME Steam Tables for ME Exam

I used the book "Steam Tables" (Keenan, Keyes, Hill, & Moore as authors) for the exam. Anything to avoid interpolation is more than worth the money -- save me a ton of time on the exam.

NEW MEMBER/TAKING PE EXAM OCT 2008

I passed the April 08 exam with the HVAC/R depth. You're going to have your hands full since the exam changed -- you'll get questions in the SI & US formats, which I think is brutal. Since I work full-time, I wouldn't tackle the Oct 08 exam, but would feel more comfortable preparing for...

    EIT without Bachelors

Very annoying to hear any state allowing anyone to take either the EIT or the PE without the proper education & experience -- If you don't have the academics & experience, you're not qualified. :brickwall: I hate posts like this -- wish I could actually get posts to help MEs prepare...

    Architectural Engineering PE

I don't appreciate words like idiot either. My statements are based on facts not opinions -- Nobody, and I mean nobody, has the right to use disparaging words like "idiot" "ass-holeness" in a professional forum. Of course my experience & education are superior -- they're backed up by the...

    Architectural Engineering PE

Quick research on top engineering programs -- Architecture isn't considered engineering in any of them. If you research the top engineering schools curriculums in Architecture ( MIT, Stanford, Illinois, & Georgia Tech), you'll see that Architecture isn't considered engineering. Moreover...

Suggested tabbing method for MERM (and all PE references)

Definitely an organized mess. I only had about 10 tabs. I think it was easier understanding the content of the chapters and concepts.

That kind of talk could get you dispared or better yet, land you in a defamation lawsuit -- I'll have my lawyers contact the site administrator for your remark.

    Architectural Engineering PE

I'm just stating a point based on professional experience. I don't get offended by dependant engineers using profanity.
