    Surveying Exam

Thank you sir. Kind of sad to get one wrong on a take home open book exam though.

    Surveying Exam

PCS is funny...I called on Friday morning to ask about the results; it had been a week since they told me they would be issued. On the phone, and then with a follow up email, they told me that the didn't even expect to receive the law exam until later this week. Then poof...at around 5:00 I...

Which Boards are the most helpful

See...I don't want to talk about Jersey until after I have my results and licenses...but I know exactly what you're talking about.

    Why the wait seems intolerable

Waiting for results that they tell you will take 10 to 12 weeks is tough...but when you know from past experiences (based on the historical data from this site) that the time is less than 10 to 12 weeks it gets frustrating because of the boilerplate response of 10 to 12 weeks that is clearly...

    Surveying Exam

I guess when PCS said "On or before May 9, 2014" they didn't really mean "On or before May 9th 2014".

Which Boards are the most helpful

As I wait for results for the State Surveying Exam and the frustration behind the wait, I was reminded of how helpful and nice the staff at the Delaware PE association were. The process was straightforward and easy and whenever you called or emailed, you received an honest and generally quick...

    Surveying Exam

You have a good point, but having dealt with the service reps at the NJ board for some time now, I think PCS is still a better option then them. It's been my experience that the people in the Delaware Association of Professional Engineers are the most helpful when it came to applying for the PE...

    Surveying Exam

To get licensed in Jersey you need to pass the Jersey PS exam and also the New Jersey Law exam. The law exam is a 20 question take home, I kid you not, test that you mail to PCS when your done. They give you 3 weeks to complete it. So I got an Email from PCS in mid April saying the results...

    PE results released sooner?

Today is still only day 28 though, that means at least 2 more weeks of this waiting nonsense.

    Surveying Exam

New Jersey State Specific Surveying Exam: 2 Testing locations Test format: 40 multiple choice questions Number of people taking the Surveying exam: At the southern location: 3 At the northern location: No more than 20 (probably closer to 5). How long does it really take to grade 23...

Right there with you....NJ uses PCS and I'm on that site every hour checking for updates.

    Failed multiple times, options?

I'm not sure you'd be able to take the exam in a different state. I've seen the question asked "if you have a pending application or have ever been denied licensure in a different state". I don't think failing the exam would constitute being denied licensure, but it would definitely be a...

    Surveying Exam

I don't understand why the FS would be exempt if you've got a PE, there's some stuff on the FS that would blow PE's minds. Like all those fancy surveying terms, perches, rods, chains...survey feet, international feet....and here in Philadelphia, we've got something called District Standard...

    Surveying Exam

I agree, but it'd be fun, being as I'm from the East Coast, to have a license from Hawaii or Alaska. You know, just in case my company ever needs to do some work out there. Almost forgot about Guam and Puerto Rico....might need those as well.

    Surveying Exam

April, 2001 was when I first ventured to Trenton to take the EIT or FE, I went back for round 2 in October with a better result. I then moved, got sidetracked with surveying and headed to Pennsylvania to take the Surveying Exam in April 2004. I then got my act in gear for the PE, in April 2008...

    Surveying Exam

I should have 8, (2 tries on the FE and PE), but I only know where 4 are. I swear people in my office steal things. Plus, I have a couple that predate the date...when they were only colored and didn't include the month and year. Those things are collectors items.

    Surveying Exam

Sapper, the one thing that's great about taking all those exams is the collection of Pencils. I have also taken four NCEES exams, EIT, SIT, PE & PS, but then you can keep adding to your collection by taking all those state exams. I've got Ohio and Pennsylvania under my belt and last week...

Funny exam site stories of April 2014

Nah....silly....I think I did well anyway. My point was that if I'm spending that much time on a question that I think has an issue with it and might be thrown out. I should have allocated that time to questions that didn't have issues and maybe improved my chances with those questions.

Funny exam site stories of April 2014

Well, my question was from the NJ Surveying exam, which it a 40 question, 2 hour test. The question was based on a NJ Statute. After the Proctor told me to email the board, she indicated that at least one of the other 2 guys taking the test asked for a comment form. I ended up emailing PCS...

Funny exam site stories of April 2014

I had an issue with one of the questions. I think there was a typo and none of the answers were correct. So I asked the Proctor for a comment form so I could challenge it, or whatever those comment forms do. Unfortunately someone else had asked for a comment form and they didn't have any...
