    2016 results

I took Civil - Water Resources depth for the second time. I honestly thought the AM session was significantly easier than it was in October, though I thought October's AM session was relatively easy but still managed only to get 25/40 correct for whatever that's worth. However, I thought the PM...

For those discovering they didn't pass...

I assume EET doesn't provide just their references for purchase, without signing up for the review courses?

For those discovering they didn't pass...

Yeah, I talked with another colleague who bombed the means & methods questions as well looking for advice on how to improve in this area. I can't remember specific problems, but I found my professional experience to be most beneficial than any reference source for this section. I felt the...

For those discovering they didn't pass...

@GA Civil we're in the same boat, I scored about as expected in the afternoon (Civil WRE), but didn't score nearly as well as I predicted during the morning session. What specific subject areas did you not do as well as you thought coming out of the exam? For me, it was soil mechanics and...

I will check, but I doubt it...I work with a bunch of stormwater guys and the vast majority of us have never worked in the wastewater treatment field.

For those discovering they didn't pass...

@matt267 PE thanks for the advice, I had already planned to either or both the NCEES practice exam problems and the practice problems in your first link. In addition, I used and was planning to use the PPI Exam Cafe again. So I think I have enough practice problems to do, my bigger problem the...

NYCProjectEngineer makes some very good points. eowen99, I'm curious to know what resources you used for your practice problems. I too failed Civil WRE depth, first time taking and it sounds like our scores were similar, however, I performed better in the morning than I did in the afternoon. I...

For those discovering they didn't pass...

Yeah, I had a similar mindset going into this first exam where I didn't spend a lot of time studying certain sections and all turned out to be sections I got less than 50% of the problems correct. However, it's really only one subject (wastewater treatment, water quality & water...

NJ Minimum Passing Score Revealed for FE and PE

I don't know if I would consider that the gospel, because minimum score implies that 70% is set in stone and I know for a fact it isn't. That may be baseline assumption, maybe? The score is definitely scaled from exam cycles to the next. My guess is that the cut score probably deviates between...

For those discovering they didn't pass...

For repeat test takers that failed, did you find review courses to be more/less beneficial? And did you focus your study based on the diagnostics? My diagnostics from the exam were pretty consistent with diagnostics I got using PPI2PASS Exam Café so I knew my weaknesses and strengths going into...

Map: October 2015 PE Results Released

I don't know if anyone else has posted in any other thread but South Carolina has also released results per work colleague who took exam in that state.

For those discovering they didn't pass...

I failed 1st time taking but very optimistic about passing 2nd go around. Scored 63% on morning and 55% afternoon (Civil WRE), only spent about 120-140 hours total prep time over 3 months.

Aww damn, misread the post about PS results being released to the states. I guess another week of waiting in agony. :(

    Oct 2015

I see a lot of stock is being put into number of days between the test and certain meetings, but if you just look at recent history then a lot of states including mine (NC) have released their results within a day or two of them being released to them from NCEES. My guess is we start hearing of...

For about 30 seconds until I realized better, I thought my odds of passing went from 50% to 75%. :(

PE Civil Str depth - any idea about minimum pass score

No way knows for certain, but I've heard the cut score is generally around 54 +/-2.

    Oct 2015

Interesting reading varying opinions and would be curious to hear what study methods and/or resources people used. I didn't take any courses or really do any studying of concepts, I simply used PPI2Pass Exam Cafe to do practice problems and felt it adequately prepared me for the types of...

MSEng vs. MEng..Which Route Should I Go?

Mark, I think you summarized a lot of what I was thinking and what I've already ascertained through my own research. I definitely want to make an informed decision and is the reason why I'm really interested to read the feedback. Without question, I think that I can gain the necessary knowledge...

MSEng vs. MEng..Which Route Should I Go?

Mark, I didn't indicate specifically in my previous posts but I'm looking at pursuing a Masters degree in Environmental Science/Engineering or something closely related to Stormwater Management or Urban Hydrology. I had considering MEM program and NJIT is actually one of the schools I've looked...

MSEng vs. MEng..Which Route Should I Go?

To obtain a more specialized educational background. I have taken short courses and done workshops for professional development, but I feel I need a more in depth knowledge base. Additionally, in looking at job postings for the type of positions I would like to have in 5-10 years, many of them...
