Thanks so much Zach for taking the time to write this. And thanks MEtoEE for the efforts. Cheers!

    NCEES Sample Exam #110 - sqrt(3) question

But here, they gave the "phase-to-phase" voltage, and not the phase voltage. Isn't the phase voltage the same as the line-to-neutral voltage?  It's my understanding that for 3PH circuits, the sqrt(3) should be used with the line-to-line or phase-to-phase values?

    NCEES Sample Exam #110 - sqrt(3) question

So I'm a bit lost here.  In terms of magnitude, why was S=VI used here versus S=sqrt(3)*V_line*V_line, since this is a 3-phase problem? Why is the sqrt(3) eliminated here?

    Favorite subject

This is exactly how I’ve been feeling. I can’t get my mind into the right frame of thought... or “study mode.” Protection is my favorite here, with code coming in second. Also, I took Zach’s online course. It seriously helped a lot in providing foundation knowledge. I did a bunch of practice...

    Why isn't this forum active?

I recently started studying here. The worst part about failing the exam is getting back on that horse to study all over again. I read somewhere here that Electrical PE Review is a good place to set foundation for the “why” of things. So for new/repeat test takes.... highly recommend the online...

    Exam Re-Take Limit? California...

Hey guys - Anyone know if there is a maximum re-take limit for P.E. exam takers in California? I tried googling and searching the board website. Couldn't find a clear, direct answer. Before I call the board and get placed on a long hold, wanted to check in and see if anyone may have the answer...

CA Board Approval for Spring 2017 Exam

Thank you for your response @CAPLS Question - Will the board get back to me on my application status before the exam date? Not that it matters, but I'm just curious if you'd happen to have an idea on the time frames.

CA Board Approval for Spring 2017 Exam

Thanks for the response and links!! @leggo It really is unclear what the new process in getting licensed will be. I just hope that whatever I paid and submit for the board approval will still somehow apply.... it will be a huge hassle to obtain my references all over again

CA Board Approval for Spring 2017 Exam

Thank you @leggo !  I'm just concerned that, well my check for the application and fingerprints have already been processed a long time ago. It would be nice to have a response of some sort. With the new board approval process, does this mean that if and when the PE exam is passed, no...

CA Board Approval for Spring 2017 Exam

Hey everyone, I know CA has the new board approval process where applicants for the PE can just go directly to NCEES if they passed the FE (http://www.bpelsg.ca.gov/applicants/application_process_changes_091216.pdf).  Well, this update wasn't valid until after submitting my board approval...
