they have vol 1-3 for 2015 but only have 2012 for vol 4 & 5.... do you think its a good idea mixing code years?

Is it worth it to take the SE exam?

like the guy that told me i needed 4 years of EE schools and 4 years working in the field to know that the declared rating of a motor is the output. very helpful, huh?

Is it worth it to take the SE exam?

Is it worth it to take the SE exam?

Unfortunately I had that same mind set. I graduated at 21 with a master's in structural and with less friends than I came into college with. What a mistake that was...

Is it worth it to take the SE exam?

Is MSE a title? I would say not for the same reason that I would say a B.S. isn't a title. The real trifecta would be PhD, SE, PE since they are all titles.

SE Exam - Must have books

I would think that IBC 5 volume package on sample problems would be nice. I plan on getting it

    Ultimate POWER PE study package

Up for sale is the ultimate study package for the POWER PE exam. If you have not read up on it, this PE test specifically throws out a lot of curve balls. This test was HARD. (I've taken civil before and it was cakewalk) I recommend that you study FULL TIME if you plan on sitting for April...

    WANTED - AASHTO 7th w/ Interim Reivion

yeah, getting burned by these code books too. I gave up on the SE years ago because of the cost of all these books. Looks like i gotta spend more money getting 7th edition along with what I spent for the 5th edition.

PE Structural Depth Failure - Advice?

This is so weird. I suppose you simply freeze up at tests. Have you been practicing from the SERM as well? Did I reply to you elsewhere? I was gonna suggest villanova because I like their power review course, but looks like that's all they do. I did self study for civil-structural.

Seismic Design Manual or PCI Design Handbook

    Review Course Pass/Fail

Makes sense. When I tried the PPI course for Power, I found it annoying when people asked the same crap over and over. BUT it was more annoying when the teacher made a mistake and he wouldn't answer a question regarding that mistake until 5 minutes later. I suppose the helper that the teacher...

    October 2016 Pass rates

I suppose it's more about being bold than anything else. The civil PE test I took was a joke. But I rather had overstudied than understudied. Dunno if I could have passed it by practicing the basics, but completely unwilling to find out.

Is it worth it to take the SE exam?

it's not my opinion that the Florida engineering board itself places no value on one's passing of the SE exam. Or as an employee described it, "meaningless." I suppose a lot of people here are simply not comprehending English sentences.

Is it worth it to take the SE exam?

" " The SE title, if obtained, never has ZERO benefit unless you don't see yourself practicing structural engineering in near future " " read that text again. this quote "  but passing a PE and/or SE does. " renders the former completely meaningless

Is it worth it to take the SE exam?

" The SE title, if obtained, never has ZERO benefit unless you don't see yourself practicing structural engineering in near future " unless he meant that the knowledge gained never has zero benefit, which would technically not be relevant

    Review Course Pass/Fail

The SE is ridiculous. I should have continued with it when i was unemployed years ago. It'd be nice to have for me, but completely unnecessary. Also, the SERM is not enough. When i got the PE, i went back and started taking the SE practice tests and i noticed that the SERM is missing a great...
