You will find out first with the "Exam Grades" link. Once it's posted in there, when the system updates the next day at 5am you'll be in the database and you'll get an e-mail with your number (at around 5am the next day) so you can order your stamp.
Don't forget for at least the past two cycles an indicator that the results are ready to be released and they are waiting for the state to approve their release is when your "Date Taken:" goes from "April XX, 2017" to "April, 2017".
You are correct...I was stuck in the (old Texas) mind set that you had to be approved to sit for the exam which meant if you passed you were automagically licensed. Good call.

So if you pass the exam you have 5 months to get 30 PDH's for renewal - what if you took courses in 2017 but before you were licensed? I happen to like the way Texas allows their PEs to take a exception for their first renewal...I think that's fair.
