Should I take the SE Exam?

You should be able to take SE exam without having any references, just sign up through NCEES. For a SE license, at least for Georgia, I didn't need any SE's as references. Only the standard 3 PE's minimum

    SE by comity in CA

COVID seems to have slowed down review process for many states and may be new norm for comity applicants which is a pain for quick moving projects. Waiting on comity from Hawaii/Georgia for SE and it took over 1 year for state of NJ to approve my application for PE (sent 06/20, recevied confirm...

April 2021 SE Exam Results Thread

I am planning to apply to Georgia, seems fairly easy and everything is online / they accept NCEES references. Gain SE license there and then try comity at some of the more involved application process states.

Should I take the SE Exam?

Neither a lack of a masters or experience is big deal. Just will need to supplement that comfortability with code/design with study seat time. SE exam is hard, but doable.

    October 2020 Results

NCEES put out a notice to PE exam takers, release after the registration end date for January exam. Since we don't have a January exam or December 13th registration end date, I'm hoping SE is not effected, but I guess we will find out.

How is your SE exams (2020 October)

Anyone know when the grading weekend for SE exam is scheduled? I remember the results almost always come out the following week

How is your SE exams (2020 October)

I took lateral, also felt the exam was about what I expected...granted this is my second go at lateral so that probably played a part. Few tricky questions in morning; felt I found the majority of the spots to make a mental error expect for one problem which I realized afterward. Felt good about...

COVID Invoice State of New Jersey

Thanks, that is what I was thinking. I've been needing this NJ license and the need to have it has me questioning my sanity and scam awareness.

COVID Invoice State of New Jersey

Has anyone else here recently applied for a NJ PE license by comity or 1st time application during these last few months. I submitted an application few months back, took awhile to show up in their system which is understandable given COVID. But now I received a random email from reviewer (email...

Dang I didn't know this! Good to know

    COVID-19

I agree, I could see this working fairly easily for the SE exam takers, specifically on Saturday. Not so much the PE exam takers which makes me think the exam will get cancelled as well. I keep studying though, but with the mindset it's for the betterment of myself as an engineer so I don't get...

    April Exams are CANCELED

Short sighted on both solutions. 1. For the postponement, how would you get thousands of people to agree on a postponement date? The October exam date has been set for awhile so it's an easier pill for folks to swallow if they have to take exam that day given it's a pre-determined date set...

    April Exams are CANCELED

Not possible, not everyone would be able to agree on postponement date. It'd wouldn't be fair to those who had paid for an agreed upon date. Only option they had was October. Stop complaining and start social distancing like a responsible adult.

    Coronavirus

Nah they don't have 5 weeks at all actually. NCEES has realistically less than two weeks if they want to act RESPONSIBLY and make a decision to either have folks prepare to travel/sit for exam or postpone the exam to another date.

    COVID-19

Hopefully NCEES and/or state boards make a decision sooner than later. With only a ~month until exams, they need to take the lead with a call one way or the other.

Trying to get boss to allow the same study opportunities as coworker

Sounds like you received a good amount of opportunity both time and financial at least compared to the standard. Bits of your story seem to be self defeating e.g. you waited until two weeks to get your references bought? That's your responsibility whether or not it's being funded by your firm...

    Code coefficients and tables

Reading the code books cover to cover is a waste of two important resources, time and memory. The average person would retain 5% of the text and understand 2% at best given the codes can be quite ambiguous. As Connor stated, it's best to work problems and read the code as you work problems...
