Everything you wanted to know about the CA-Survey/Seismic Civil PE Exams

This was my first time taking it. I honestly felt like i crushed it. There was only 1 problem that I took a legitimate guess on. Other then that I had everything solved and walked out feeling like I definitely passed. Surveying did not go quite as great though. Definitely borderline on that one.

Everything you wanted to know about the CA-Survey/Seismic Civil PE Exams

Not yet. Took it mid April. I'm guessing we get results the week of 5/25.

    NCEES Survey-- FE Content review

It was kind of interesting going through the different topics and thinking about what was important and what wasn't. I found myself focusing on wanting to know how well new graduates understand project delivery methods, cost estimating, life cycle costs, specifications/drawings, and technical...

    CA Seismic

I just took the exam last Friday (4/13). I took the Seismic Design course by Hiner and signed up for the EET CBT exams. I won't give any specifics, but Hiner's manual and practice problems, and the EET practice exams were very representative of the actual test. I know EET has a course but I...

Everything you wanted to know about the CA-Survey/Seismic Civil PE Exams

@CAPLS So i just took my seismic exam last Friday, does that mean that my results will go out with everyone who takes it in April? So is that 6-8 weeks after the last day of the month or is it a shorter time frame?

One week out from the test advice

This is exactly what my routine was before the exam. Like you said, crushed it! I took Wednesday and Thursday off before the exam, it was a great recovery period.

    CA PE Timeline

Yep that's right. You need to send in an application, wait for approval and an authorization to test (ATT) form from the board, and only then can you sign up. The ATT (and the board website) states that the ATT is only valid for you to take the test in the quarter that you were approved for. So...

CA state exam application status for April 2018

When they approve you they'll let you know what quarter you're eligible for. It's possible you'll still get approved for this quarter. From what I understand, you can get approved and register anytime between April 1st and June 30th as long as the test is taken within those dates. But i'd look...

Just wanted to update you guys. I got my ATT and registration instructions today. I was able to register for both Seismic and Surveying very quickly upon receipt of the ATT (Authorization to Test).

CA state exam application status for April 2018

From my own experience, and from what I've heard from others, you'll probably hear sometime this month that your application has been sent for technical review. It was mentioned below, but give the board 60 days from the time of sending in your application. If you don't hear anything after...

    Scheduling CA Exams

Yeah. I got an e-mail saying they received my application a few days after they actually received it (I had tracking on my package). It was referred to technical review about a month after they received the application. And approved 1 month after that. All in all took about 65-70 days for the...

    Scheduling CA Exams

Long story short, I received a notice from BPELSG at the end of December saying that my application was technically approved and that I would get a follow-up email for scheduling the two exams. It's been about a month and I haven't gotten any follow-up communication. Has anyone scheduled their...

To those who did not pass

As someone who just took the Civil - WRE exam this fall and passed, I completely agree with everything that you said. I've read and heard too many things of people complaining that the PE is too hard and so I was extremely nervous in preparing for the exam. I started off with the PPI material...

Now that it's been a few days (for most of us).. How is everyone feeling?

I passed the 8-hour in CA and was riding the high for a day or so...until I remembered I have two more tests to take in the spring.
