    August Test Results

It varied. Reza's problems went from really easy to really hard. I'd say the problems on the exam were easy to medium with a few being more difficult. I agree though that Reza doesn't do a great job of explaining his work and you have to try to figure out what he's doing in his solution.

For surveying I used the CPESR manual (http://civilpesurveyingreview.com/) and the Reza manual (https://www.surveyingreview.com/). The first time I took it I used just the CPESR one and it didn't feel like quite enough info. If you're only going to use one, I'd go with Reza.  For seismic, I...

Same. It'll probably be later this month or early next month, depending on when their licensing cycle is.

For those that passed seismic and are done with all of their tests, have you been added to the list of licensees? Just curious as it looks like the whole system was updated today

    4th quarter Test takers

Yes, mid-September. I'm guessing this week based on the first few months of testing.

    NFL 2018

At least the second half was a little bit better. Both teams definitely have a lot of rust to shake off though.

    4th quarter Test takers

The test is available the first day of the quarter that you're approved for. So if you're approved for Q4, you could take the the exam as early as October 1st assuming you received your authorization to test and had signed up for it in time.

Allowed Items in Prometric Test Areas (CA)

I don't think this would be an issue. The issue is loose pages or stapled pages. I imagine their issue with sleeves is the same as loose or stapled. If the materials are held together by a binder I don't think they would have a problem.  You could call and ask. I imagine they would clarify.

Everything you wanted to know about the CA-Survey/Seismic Civil PE Exams

I don’t believe there is any consensus on that. The problem is that without the board publishing cut scores, all we can do is guess. I’d guess the cut score is generally around 65%, but it’s just rough estimates and shooting from the hip. It sounds like you did well enough to pass so I wouldn’t...

CA seismic and topo -June results

I 100% support this post. It's mind boggling that, for lack of a better term, the board is so sketchy when it comes to results of the seismic and surveying exams. While as CAPLS mentioned, the board isn't technically responsible for "helping" us pass, the lack of useful feedback is, in my...

Agreed, definitely a good discussion. Thanks for engaging 😁

CA seismic and topo -June results

I agree with all of your points. It's more of a general discussion and "constructive" criticism. We all have to go through it though so it is what it is.

CA seismic and topo -June results

CAPLS, I appreciate the response. I didn't know about the first part, and I agree that I have an issue with the Legislature then. I suppose I disagree with how the board is carrying out the requirements then as far as the way the test is developed. You mentioned that "The Board's expectations...

CA seismic and topo -June results

I don't think it's entirely fair to say that it's not the licensing board's responsibility to help us understand how to do better. The reason I say that is due to the fact that the California licensing board is the one that makes us take 2 additional exams to become licensed, as opposed to rest...
