How to combine engineering and environment?

You could pursue mechanical and not see an office too Many sales jobs will see you traveling to customer sites to help them with their equipment, etc. Commissioning is becoming a big deal with the LEED & efficiency push going on, you'll be in a lot of basements, but it's not the office :)...

    LEED

I think I spent about a month like VTEnviro, but I spent maybe 5 hours a week in the first few weeks and only ramped it up for the last week or two. Not a hard test at all, just understand the concepts and use the GBES tests to show you what funny items need to be memorized such as standards...

    LEED

These exams can take your shirt if you're not careful. Not to make you feel too bad, but people have been getting approval to take the GA using certificates generated by the free CMP web based courses offered at https://www.usgbc.org/CourseCatalog/CourseC...;CMSPageID=2115 ..not sure if they...

    LEED

You can either take the GA & AP exams in one 4 hour sitting, or take them separately. I'd recommend taking separately, that way you avoid the 4 hour sitting, and you hold the GA credential while working on the AP. This will cost $50 more, but if you're new to the LEED system, the GA exam is...

    Motivation, or lack of.

I'm on the same path, work doesn't challenge me anymore, I can do my present role with my eyes shut and have a ton more free time with the same amount of work, although I hate it when anything new comes in... I went and got my EIT when this feeling started, then LEED Green Associate, LEED AP...

    Mechanical Engineering Dictionary

I got mine used for $2.50 + $4 shipping off amazon. Looks like the prices have gone up since I got that one by a buck or two. It was ex-library, barely used. Probably will never open it, but I wanted it as a last resort in the exam. Try ebay as well I guess...

    ASHRAE Fundamentals

I haven't started my preparation yet, other than beginning the book accumulation process, so can't vouch for how useful it is, but one of the books I got was ASHRAE Fundamentals from 2005. I managed to find it on ebay for $30 delivered in excellent condition. I'll be taking TF, but when I saw...

    Rethinking Study Approach

?? You really believe that? There are countless specialties and sub-specialties that an engineering career can weave its way into. The PE exams are necessarily broad as they could never write an exam to cover the tiny piece of the spectrum that one actually applies in their job... There are a...

    Rethinking Study Approach

I dunno about replicating the 'exam experience' ... It was traumatic enough once... I felt like a zombie after the FE exam last year. After the finishing the questions from the morning session I diligently went over my calculations, checked my bubbling skills (which apparently were up to par)...

    CA Reference Needed for Exam

Another thought, and I'm not sure if they were considering this or not, but I would personally take on the financial cost of getting the PE yourself so that you can have that discussion without them saying "well we PAID for the PE, so there's your raise." ...

    CA Reference Needed for Exam

I don't think they would see any direct benefit.. They aren't "billing out" the hours that you spend on any particular project. That said manufacturers and/or distributors of engineered equipment need sales of their products to survive and prosper. That's what they do. Marketing the fact that...
