    California CA PE Exam Registration

Just got my exam authorization notice through NCEES. Looks like I'm getting up early, 7am reporting time? Yikes

    How is everyone making out?

I had a less-than convenient lead-in to the exam. We just moved from NY to CA. With all the apartment hunting, moving, packing/unpacking, I was just too distracted to start when I should have. So I've given myself only around 5 weeks of real studying to get it all down. I'm doing around 3 hours...

    California CA PE Exam Registration

I sent in postcards with my application, but never got the second one back either. I just spoke to the board and they tell me I'm approved and my card must have been lost (I've had a few changes of address since applying) ... They also said that if it shows approved on the NCEES website (mine...

Trane Air Conditioning Manual - $25 shipped

This was printed in 1981 being the fifty seventh printing (content revised in 1965). Binding is solid, pages a little aged and musty, but in great condition. Looking for $25 via PayPal shipped. PM me if interested. Thanks

    LEED

You don't need any credential to work on a LEED project. The only time it comes into play is if you are seeking the 'bonus' point in the ID category. LEED 2012 draft has a note that you will need a LEED AP with the specialty of the project as well as two other current LEED professionals, either...

    P90X

I always worked out at the gym (well at least for the last few years anyhow), lifting weights mostly and am also a keen runner, my wife and I ran the NYC marathon last year which was an amazing achievement I'm pretty sure I'll never take on again as my knees are nothing like what they were after...

California PE Engagement / Record Requirements

If you and your references' firms are principally involved in performing engineering work for manufacturing or industrial corporations in connection with their products then they are also exempt from licensure.

California PE Engagement / Record Requirements

Are you in an exempt industry? ie a manufacturing firm or such? If so then you can submit references from exempt EE's such as yourself. If you're not exempt yourself, you'll need PEs. At least that's my interpretation.

    LEED

You are still required to do 30 hours of CMP even if you test, all you dodge is the prescriptive categories requirements.
  13. Trev... P.E.

    LEED

There are two paths to enrollment, ONE you can take the AP specialty test and then do non-prescriptive maintenance. Or TWO, just enroll, then do prescriptive maintenance. The only difference is you have to hit certain subjects in your CMP if you take the prescriptive path. It isn't a much bigger...

    LEED

Andrew, I think you are confused with the process... If you have LEED AP under the old systems then you are currently in your enrollment period. This means you simply log into your 'my credentials' account and click a few buttons, viola, you will then be a LEED AP BD+C... You DO NOT need to...
  15. Trev... P.E.

    LEED

Nope. You are a LEED AP now and forever more as you tested under LEED v 2.2. You may want to keep in mind that it looks like LEED 2012 will make LEED APs without specialty less relevant. There is a credit in Innovation in Design/Operations that under LEED 2009 requires any LEED AP to be working...

Suggestions: Passed FE test but I didn't get certificate

I have a double bachelors BE(mech)/BTech(Aero) from an Australian university so it is certainly NOT ABET accredited, although it is accredited in Australia by all the appropriate authorities. I received my EIT certificate from NY a few months after the FE exam so I'm not sure what their issue is...

    Help with phone interview

Good luck on getting to the next step Sleepy! Sounds like you nailed it to me

Is having an EIT worth anything?

I am Australian and took my Bachelors there. I think it helps me out a little to show I'm familiar with all the different methods and units that US students would learn the same material. I have also seen it on a bunch of job ads, so it's certainly something for that...

    EIT Wall Certificate

They sent me a little 8.5 x 5.5" certificate. Took around 3 months after results were posted out. Has your cert number and such.

    Help with phone interview

I can't advise on what a facilities engineering hiring manager will be looking for but... Take a shot of something 15 mins before the call starts! :beerchug: Seriously, they can't smell your breath and it will settle the nerves. I've done this for every phone interview I've ever had... and...
