Which raises a question, the database has just a 5 digit number... These two examples from engineerseals.com have a letter in front: Last year's people, when you get the certificate, does it have the type letter (M,E,C, etc) as a prefix to the lic. number?

Nope. PE means you're licensed by the state, you just passed the exam. Cali has to determine if you met all the other criteria, like the take home exam, etc.

Study in the morning before work & really use your weekends. Sucks for a couple of months, but it's worth it. You can't study for 8 hours a day anyhow, so quitting isn't going to get you anything. Maybe take vacation or unpaid leave for a couple of weeks prior to the test if you need the...
