    Going for an MBA

I have been working for 5+ years in the Mechanical Engineering related field, with a BS and MS, and also I just passed the PE this year. Now I am thinking about doing a part-time MBA, as my company is willing to pay for it. Going part-time might take me 4-6 years, by taking 3-4 classes every...

Krakosky, I think you did fine, don't stress about it! Try to move on with your life....I kinda have not, as I still meander through this board alot. :)

How did you guys make out?

Here are some post on the way people felt about the Mechanical PE from Oct 2011 right after they took it: http://engineerboards.com/index.php?showtopic=17486 Personally i remembered feeling good and confident when i left the test site. But I knew I had guessed on 6-7 on the AM and an equal...

    Final Prep and Exam Day

Time will be your major problem on this test. I worked on the exam literally to the last second of regulation time. However, the last few problems were ones I had skipped. My advice is to flip through the whole exam booklet and if possible quickly read each problem. I spend the first 6...

Question for people who have taken/are taking MD depth

Check Shigley's appendices for fillet weld as well. for some reason, i was able to fully understand fillet weld after reading shigley. I took the exam last October and passed. Don't discount fillet weld from appearing on the exam. My recommendation, anything and everything might come up on...

Question for people who have taken/are taking MD depth

Shigley's example problem on welds is much easier and better written than MERM or NCEES sample problem. If you don't have Shigley, go to your local college textbook store and buy it, you still have 3 weeks. I am telling you that about 10 or so problems can be solved easily if you have Shigley.

9 Weeks to go...struggling with plan

Outlaw, I studied for 2.5 to 3 months before the exam, not sure on the total number of hours (200-250 hours). I would take some weeknights off to hang out with friends and family. As for the 1 hour questions, I really didn't spend 1 hour or more on them. If i couldn't get them within 10 min...

9 Weeks to go...struggling with plan

Outlaw44- 1. I studied 1 chapter (i.e. chapter 14) per night, which roughly took me 2-3 hours to read it. Then the following night I would do the practice problems for chapter 14. 2. Personally (no offense) I think you are still taking the easy way out on the practice problems. You have to...

9 Weeks to go...struggling with plan

HI, 9 weeks is still sufficient time left to complete your review. But don't delay too much. I took the Mechanical MD PE last October, graduated from college in 2005. Here are some tips: 1. Study each weeknight 2-3 hours, aim to get through at least one chapter in the MERM per night, and do...

FE exam-better to take in MD or DC?

Neha, Start by registering yourself to take an exam (http://www.ncees.org/Exams/FE_exam.php) and you will find out what you need in order to sit for the exam. A friend of mine had to receive his India undergraduate transcripts in order to sit for the exam, which takes time. Start the process...

    101 solved problems and PE-exam.com

Read the preface of the books and you will know if they are close to the actual format. I didn't like the 101 solved problems for mechanical, didn't work any problems in there except for the Engineering Economic

    NCEES Sample Exams

I have both the books you mentioned. The MD is the same between the two books, you have a redundant copy. I don't believe they published a 2010 sample book yet?? The 2001 copy is very rare, you probably won't find it. The book that has the three depth section will be the best source of...
