What was the first thing you bought on Amazon?

I'm sure it was a book, a long, long time ago. If I recall, they didn't sell much else then. The last thing I bought was a Shoji screen. Got a good deal on it too.

What older woman do you think is hot?

She's actually younger than me, but I'm partial to Diane Lane since "Unfaithful."

    Casey Anthony Trial

I think it was only about five years ago. CSI had already been around for a while. I thought everybody knew all about DNA after OJ anyway.

    Casey Anthony Trial

I decided to let someone else state the obvious. :party-smiley-048:

    Casey Anthony Trial

I haven't followed the case much, but I understand they had about the same amount of physical evidence as they had on Scott Peterson and they convicted him of double homicide and sentenced him to death. I think they convicted him because he was a pr*ck.

So why isn't it called the PPE Exam??

Because that's the test they give you on work sites to make sure you know which Personal Protective Equipment to use.

Traffic Engineer experience does not qualify for Civil?

Yep. Other than this board, I don't know anybody who took the PE exam anywhere but California, and I work at a place where we have people will ewvery conceivable license. I guess the first thing would be to ask your supervisor what he awrote and NOT write anything similar. Although my...

    CALIFORNIA - RESULTS April '11

Uh,no. I recieved an 11 x 8.5" computer printed cert just like you. It's not displayed anywhere. Unless in a pile of other certificates at work counts as displayed. And guess what? Back when I got my EIT they didn't send certificates. They just sent these little licenses like my barber has...

    CALIFORNIA - RESULTS April '11

You guys are lucky. Back when I got my license, :old-025: we'd still be waiting until sometime in July just for the results. The certificate? Maybe some time in August.

Traffic Engineer experience does not qualify for Civil?

I'm not an expert on it. THey do have a separate exam. And I have known people who basically did only traffic work and got to take the civil exam. I guess it depends on how you write up your qualifications. In fact, I know people who have both licenses. Since you only need 2 years...

Traffic Engineer experience does not qualify for Civil?

California has it all messed up and complicated. The Civil License and the Traffic License are in separate categories. THe Civil, mechanical and electric licenses are codified under the "practice act". Traffic is under a "title act". The practice act licenses sort of carry a little more...

Traffic Engineer experience does not qualify for Civil?

It might be because California has a separate traffic engineering license category. But I'm sure there are plety of peope who've worked their whole career at Caltrans (Cal DOT) with Civil licenses. I guess tHe best you can do is read the exam specs and try to emphsize the work tyou do that...

Failed FL PE 3 times - what are my options?

You don't participate in enough pointless internet arguments. That's where I get my best material.

Failed FL PE 3 times - what are my options?

Yeah, I've debated this notion before. It goes something like this. I assume the examinee already has the required experience, education and recommendations to take the exam, and has passed the EIT. To me, all of those are far more important indicators of competency than the test but that's...

Failed FL PE 3 times - what are my options?

I'm assuming he/she has a good reason to pursue the license or they wouldn't have tried it three times. I know people in my state who have passed after 7 or 8 times. Half the people in my office took 2 or more times to pass. And these are people with good grades from very reputable...

Need to retake - courses worth it?

Don't worry about this. Stick to your plan. Most repeat takers are not like you - someone who studied and just barely missed it, and now plans to revamp and tweak their strategy. A lot of repeat takers didn't study the first time, they didn't study the econd time, or the third, or on and on...

Post April 2011 Diagnostic Report scores here (xx/80) if you failed

    1. THe passing score is not necessarily a raw score of 70%. It is a scaled score of 70. Like scoring 700 on the SAT, that isn't a percent. It could mean different percentages, although 70% is a good estimate. 2. Even if it were a percent, 52/80 is not 70%. 56/80 is 70%. 3. But it doesn't...

    processing speed disorder

Yes, I agree with this - twice the time is a bit much - it might start to cause some problems in the real world in most cases. Of course, if I had some genius who could solve all my problems given enough time, I doubt the time would matter. People waste plenty of time at work no matter how...

    processing speed disorder

Not very precise analysis IMO. Because I don't think the time is a major consideration. THat's why they give you what should be plenty. But that doesn't mean it necessarily is for everyone. There is always some importance to being able to solve problems within a reasonable amount of time...
