Environmental PE Review Materials for Sale

I've been hanging around here for years and I've never heard that. I don't know why you would use the CERM; it would have lots of topics that aren't relevant to the Environmental Exam and it would be missing a lot of other topics. Some of the sections are the same since the EERM was based on...

    New York is Released 12/5/13

It was more than a month for me but the last couple exams have been much faster. It could be before New Years.

Free Resources - Would they be useful for the exam?

I believe the question I had was related to chemical and physical properties of a particular substance, or maybe chemical incompatibility, although my memory is pretty fuzzy. If your company has a copy of the entire OSHA regs, I'd throw that in with your books. I had one OSHA question and it...

Free Resources - Would they be useful for the exam?

I used the NIOSH Pocket Guide for a question. I haven't used any of the other resources before so I'm not sure about those.

    Question on Passing Score

I'm not Dex, but I've been hanging around a couple years now and I remember people posting fail scores in different civil disciplines that were supposedly 55/80 if that helps.

    Environmental PE Oct 2013

On your first point, it seems that breakdown is consistent across each exam. If you look at the percentages, it works out perfectly in order to water (32%) and solid waste (18%) in the morning, and air (23%), site assessment/remediation (12%), health and safety (8%), and other engineering...

How you did AM/PM October 2013 (All)

You know that the FE and the PE are designed to test different qualities, right? NCEES sets the FE cut score at what a minimally competent intern engineer should know right out of college. It tests fundamental knowledge that someone with maybe a C average in school should have, someone you...

    Environmental PE Oct 2013

I agree. If you're worried about retaking it but feel okay on the quantitative problems, you should spend some time reading texts. Salvato's text is pretty great for this, and Metcalf & Eddy for the wastewater problems - many of mine were taken directly from M&E and you just had to...

    Strategy?

Check out the consolidated advice thread. I'll repost my advice, but lots of other people talk about what worked for them too. I spent five minutes going through the exam at the start and ranking the problems that I knew or could do really quickly, ones I thought I could solve, and ones I knew...

Any limit to amount of reference material?

You're getting a lot of advice from people who didn't take the Environmental exam. Bring your reference books, at least anything you used while studying. I had a rolling suitcase one size up from a carry-on. I had about 4 books/binders that were my primary references, but I used probably 20...

Most useful threads for enviro exam prep

The inside cover of my print edition is dated September 2007. I got it in late 2011 or early 2012. I'm in Syracuse. I went to college up north.

    New enviro members

Air has two sets of topics, the basic principles and controls. You should spend some time reading about regulations, emissions sources, atmospheric science, that sort of thing. There are 30 air questions. These topics are maybe a third of them and many are likely to be qualitative, so if you...

Highest Fail Score of April 2013 Environmental?

We used that book in my undergrad program. The professor told us it was the only book we would need to pass the PE. I don't think it's quite that simple (I think you need a variety of texts to cover the qualitative questions they throw at you), but it is a pretty good book.

    NY is in!

I found out I passed June 1, 2012 and my license is dated July 10, 2012. I think I showed up online within a couple days of that latter date.

    NYS PE Application

This is not true in NY. They also do not require recommendations, just endorsements from your supervisor for all qualifying time.

    NYS PE Application

My form 4A was 7 pages in total. I wouldn't list out the work you did by date - put the total time in months for each project in the right column. I did mine in roughly chronological order to show increasing responsibility, but that's the only reason I chose the order I did. The rule of thumb...

Rutgers New Jersey Environmental PE Review

I don't know anything about the course, but coincidentally, I met the instructor through work. He's an engineer with EPA and I found him to be very impressive and thorough. I would expect him to do a good job with the course.
