    Passed, Pay Raise?

The problem with that site is that it only covers base salary (I assume) and not total compensation. As a civil servant you probably get other fringe benifits (e.g. pension plan) that folks in the public sector don't get. I work for a big oil company and likewise, salaries are lucrative, but...

Licensesure in other states if only pass the national exam

Hmm I guess I should have read your question more closely. I am not sure that you can apply for comity without first being licensed in one state. Since you took it in CA, if you didn't pass all the exams (let's hope you did) you wouldn't have a license to apply for comity with, even though...

Oh come on.... now the database just updated and says "Last updated: JUN-08-2011". They are really toying with our brains.

I think you are correct. Seismic and Surveying results are mailed, so you either have to wait until those results come in or the data base is updated. That is what happened with my coworker who took the exam last October.

    Passed, Pay Raise?

Very impressive tool! Mine was within 2.5 %.

    Passed, Pay Raise?

California lends itself well for this. I know other states have more rigorous requirements. In CA, you have to have 6 years of "qualifiying experience". You are awarded 4 years of credit for a bachelor's degree and 5 years if you also have a master's. Also, you can reuse educational...

I wonder if we will crash the NCEES server when the flood gates are open for us Californias to check our results? We will be doing some sort of virtual stampede. :multiplespotting:

Licensesure in other states if only pass the national exam

Some states, like Washinton and Alaska (there may be others), will require you to take speifice course/seminar in "Arctic Engineering" so that you are familiar with the design requirements in extremely cold temperatures.

Licensesure in other states if only pass the national exam

Since you are a Civil PE I will address it like that. In California as a civil PE, you can practice pretty much anything (within your expertise), even structural engineering with the exception of DSA and OSHPD work. K-12 schools, Junior colleges, hospitials and other "critical" facilities fall...

    NCEES Record?

I wouldn't think so, unless it was specifically required for your job. Say for example that you were an engineer or consultant for big company that does work throughout the USA , and needed to stamp drawings in multiple states for business need, then I would say yes, they should pay for it in...

    PE continuing education requirement

In Califonia we don't have a continuing education requirement. I have an NCEES record and loking to become licensed as needed in additional states. I've noticed that some have said requirement. My question is how rigorous is it? Also, can you "double dip" and count the same education for...

Ha! First name. I wonder why that stupid thing doesn't work based on first name? I know the search query might yield thousands of results, for a name like "John" but come on... It's a computer It can handle it!

    Passed, Pay Raise?

For me there's more to it than financial reward in the short run. The PE gives you upward mobility in the long run. Really I did it for a sense of personal achievement. Just like I did 2 masters degrees after bachelors. I don't do as much design as I do engineering management type stuff...

I agree, last time around the database is last to be updated with new licenses. When I took the mechanical exam a year an a half ago, I got my pass letter and a few days later the datebase was updated. Now that NCEES notifies you, I expect the NCEES email to come first, right when letters are...

CA PE Exam - Engagement Form Help

You don't need 4 engagements. You can have 1 engagement with 4 references for said engagement. For PE1 I would just put it down as a continuous dates (don't include the gap) on his/her engagement form there is a sections with dates that he/she is to fill in and can clarify. Just make sure...

CA PE Exam - Engagement Form Help

Call the board and ask. That's what they told me. I've been through this 2 times now, first with my mechanical PE and then with my electrical PE. Both times that's how I did it and there was no problem.
