If you passed (for us that failed)

I posted in the other thread, but I'm not going to be productive today.  I took the School of PE course. The 6 weeks leading up to it I studied and did practice problems from PPI then I took the NCEES practice test right before school of PE courses started. After the course I did the PPI...

    NASA Application

I was facilities engineer for amundsen scott south pole station, basically HVAC/Mechanical/Controls stuff, also power plant and water plant was sort of under my reign. First year there I was sort of an operator/mechanic/engineer so that wasn't too much of a stretch. Second year I was the station...

    NASA Application

I've spend 2 full years working as an engineer at the South Pole, and if I get my results and Pass, I may just try to get to the only place more remote than my previous job. Sounds fun.

    Changing Discipline for 2nd Attempt?

How close were you to passing? What sections were you weak on, etc? I'm terrified waiting, and I took the same test. I've thought a lot about switching if I fail so I'll be following till I find out, maybe after.

    Oct 2015

I flew through the morning ME session (even with the train noise if you took it in the western complex). I went out to my car and thought "pssh, all this fuss for THAT". Then the afternoon whipped my butt, I'm feeling pretty good about it overall, but still pretty nervous waiting for results!

    closed book 2020

I'm kind of tired of "engineer" being tacked on to any job description, sanitation engineer, (garbage man), operators and facility managers being "engineers". I'm always kinda looking at different jobs and industries and so often I look at a "mechanical engineer" position and it's just a tech...

    Just called NCEES about Scores

Isn't it still a few days for the states to release the scores after they get them from NCEES? I'm still banging on the 15th, especially if the CO board is blazing it.

    closed book 2020

My understanding from the "school of PE" guys is that the mechanical test can "technically" be done with the FE supplied reference handbook. I used it quite a bit during the test myself. It sounded like the goal was to get away from people bringing tons of books in, provide the necessary...

    Exam weekend: Read this

I have to admit, I'm a little thrown on what to do with all my free time now. I enjoy running and bike races, as I said in another thread, the prep leading up to this test was a lot like a race. In some ways, if you prepare for a race adequately, the race day is just a victory lap. I'd say...

Feel good about how you did on the exam?

Just signed up to say... I felt great about the morning, but the afternoon (mechanical fluids/thermal systems) was a bit rough. I was excited to have my cameron hydraulic data book though and pass or not I'll be holding onto it and recommending it in the future. There seemed to be a few I was...
