So what are you doing the day before the PE Exam?

Porter_'s Recipe for Exam Success: - study until ~6pm - cook a nice dinner (helps me unwind) - 2 glasses of red wine or beer - go to bed early - seduce wife (~90% success rate) - wake up at 5:30am and administer caffeine IV

Good find. As far as the PE exam goes Appendix C does not apply (per the syllabus).

One-Way Slab Shear Capacity Reduction Factor - CERM Ex. 51.1

I don't have ACI 318-11 either, but equations in CERM 13th ed. are based on 318-08. So I assume it's a typo. Thanks for the input MARIO650.

One-Way Slab Shear Capacity Reduction Factor - CERM Ex. 51.1

CERM 13th ed. Example 51.1 uses a shear strength reduction factor (phi) of 0.85. Everything I've read in the CERM and ACI 318 leads me to believe this should be 0.75. Is this a typo in the CERM or is there some special circumstance for one-way slab design that would make this 0.85?

How drunk should I get the night before the exam?

ASCE (2010) Guidelines: 2-3 for light sleep 4-6 for deep, restful sleep 7-9 for "oh **** I slept through my alarm" 10+ for waking up at 9am in the Taco Bell parking lot

My first thought as well. Management has been making good decisions the last couple years so I suppose I'll just have faith that this will pan out as a good move.
