I used the EET binders for all my geotech problems.  I also took the CERM, Das books, and the NAVFAC DM's.  The NAVFAC manuals helped me with one problem that first time I took the exam.  Didn't use them much this go around.  Biggest thing that helped me was more practice exams, specifically...

Today, out of no where, I started singing "Over the rainbow."  Five words in any my co-workers joined me.  This is after breaking my thumb at the gym this morning.  Top that for a Friday.

I took this as a college course in which the final exam was the CFM test.  The FEMA 480 is all you need to study.  You should be able to read flood zone maps and do simple calculations for elevations.  I don't remember the exam being very difficult at all. I can look for my old course material...

This is my second failure.  For some reason this one was easier to swallow than the first.  The good news is I improved 7 points overall.  I prepared really well for the Geotech afternoon which was my weak area the first time.  Like others, I found the Oct 15 morning more difficult which hurt. ...
