I am shaking worse now than I was waiting for the NCEES website to update, I am so relieved!!!

Curiosity POLL: Civil PE 8 hr Exam - Ease and Difficulty - Oct 2016

I felt moderate throughout the whole thing. I was taken back by some of the questions for sure. I am not exactly confident, but optimistic that I passed.

After a loooooong day, we all deserve a shot

I didn't actually take any classes. I self studied with Mansour material. It worked out really well. In the end it covered most questions. I just had to look at it a little different than how it is commonly presented. I have heard EET is pretty good, I bet you did great.

After a loooooong day, we all deserve a shot

ha ha yes. I read it on one of your other posts. I also read it to my wife. We both had a good laugh. I am optimistic and feel at peace with the test yesterday, I honestly can't think I anything I would have done different. So I am good. But it is still therapeutic to talk about it. Otherwise it...

After a loooooong day, we all deserve a shot

I agree with this, and it is the reason I am not bitter about it. Overall, it was a tough test, I will respect anyone that comes out of it with a pass. I hope I am one of those.

After a loooooong day, we all deserve a shot

I was transportation depth, so my PM was different than yours. But overall I agree. I was quite surprised at the amount of unfamiliar content. I put in more study time and did more problems than friends and coworkers close to me. The idea was to be so well versed that I could tackle almost any...

After a loooooong day, we all deserve a shot

A lot of the questions were not straightforward. The test didn't ask questions in the same manner that practice exams did, so in order to find the solution you needed to know the material good enough to manipulate it and use the theory behind it. And there were a few questions that utilized...

After a loooooong day, we all deserve a shot

I thought the AM was pretty tough too. I came up with pretty good answers in the end but a lot of them caught me off guard. I was expecting it to be easier. But I feel like PM was a little better. I was transportation depth.

OCT 2016 exam pencil color will be... ???

Mine was green as well. In fact I got two of them because I found one dropped outside after the test was over. I almost walked by it and then decided to snag it.

    Good luck

I thought the AM was pretty tough. I managed to work through most of the problems though. The PM seemed to go better for me. I did spend the majority of my time studying for the PM though. Most of my contacts had told me that AM was a breeze, I was unpleasantly surprised. I struggled through AM...

    6 days! Everyone ready?

So if it was too easy, then they would have adjusted the curve for that particular test right? So in the end even if it was easy or hard you still may have failed because the bar was raised. So in turn, if this round is really brutal, everyone will be in the same boat and the curve will adjust...

    NCESS Practice Exam Problem 501

If the question gives you a measured FFS then you do not need to calculate another FFS. So you will not use TRD, or Tlc in this problem. You just jump right to the 55 mph FFS curve. Refer to Exhibit 11-7 in the HCM, pg 11-10. You go straight to step 3 in this case. So the steps for this are...

Hmm.. Interesting. I will look out for an update.

    NCESS Practice Exam Problem 501

When I did the problem I just treated the BFFS much like I would a multilane highway and used 60 mph in the problem as opposed to the usual (75.5, or whatever it is, don't have my book on me). I thought it was a little weird, but ended up with the right answer once I was done so I figured it...

    6 days! Everyone ready?

ha ha, uh... That is definitely an interesting thought. This is my first time... And hopefully last. I don't want to go through all of this again.

    6 days! Everyone ready?

I am taking Civil Eng. Tansportation depth. I feel pretty good about it. I have taken 3 mock tests and have done well. For the tests I actually packed my suitcase with my materials, travelled to a church building and took the tests as if they were the real deal. It has given me great confidence...

    Quiz #30

Using a Vp of 2,400 would put you right at capacity which would put you at LOS E. Essentially 2,400 is the base capacity of the freeway so using a vp of that is putting you right at capacity (thus LOS E). 2,401 would be LOS F. Check out exhibit 11-7 HCM and see in between step 4 and 5. Hopefully...

    Quiz #30

Does PHF need to be multiplied in the last equation? My gut feeling is that it should. I'll crack a couple books try looking at it your way. I didn't get vp >1800 since I used the breakpoint equation for 's' to solve vp. I didn't really look into a msf.

    PHF Mansour Practice Test

Ok, my understanding is sound and the practice book has it wrong. The highest hourly rate governs, not the highest PHF. Thanks!

    Quiz #30

I just realized that I thought of that wrong, but I think the result is the same. I believe this is the correct thinking: you can say that D = vp/S and if S = 70 then check the breakpoint of vp in the density equation. vp breakpoint for 70 mph = 1000 --> 1000/70 = 14.29. We know that D = 26...
