    Determining Bearing Capacity Factors

With shall foundations, should Bearing Capacity factors be determined with the NAVFAC Design Manual or Terzaghi's chart? That is, if the exam problem does not specify which to use.

    NCESS Practice Exam Problem 501

Hopefully when we get the real exam, the first problem will have an error too and we can all freak out.

    NCESS Practice Exam Problem 501

I did the problem, but don't have the book on me. Did they use HCM 2000 or HCM 2010?

I'm taking Wednesday and Thursday Off also. Is this everyone's first time?

    6 days! Everyone ready?

I'm taking Civil Engineering Transportation Depth also. I have taken 2 full practice exams, several others that were just the morning section and then many other practice problems and taken a review course. I did decent enough and know the material well enough I think. Still need to find a way...

    Tips for Maryland Test Takers

I meant I am just bringing binders and practice problems, like 6 Minute Solutions and the NCEES Sample Exam. My References are in 3-ring binders (MUTCD, AASHTO, RDG, HCM).

    Tips for Maryland Test Takers

Alright, so I would definitely benefit from a seat cushion. So you can have a clear plastic bin next to you but nothing else? I am only bringing 3-ring binders and some Practice Problems books. Think I should be okay. I will be wearing earplugs and have a watch. Do bottles / food HAVE to be...

    Tips for Maryland Test Takers

Thanks. When did you take the exam? What was your method of studying? I took the EET Review Course, the associated homeworks, quizzes, and practice exams, NCEES practice exam, Goswami exams and other practice problems I found. I just hope it's enough and there aren't too many big surprises. I...

    Tips for Maryland Test Takers

Thank you so much for the detailed response! I am taking it next week at the Fairgrounds. I live in Baltimore City, which is about 15 miles away from the Fairgrounds. It's about a 30 minute drive up I-83. I planned on leaving my home around 6:30. I heard about the Fitbit story from last year. I...

New Practice Exam (Breadth) by Indranil Goswami

Can this booklet be brought into the exam? Or does it have to photocopied and put in a 3-ring binder?

    Pencil marks in reference material

I'm taking the Exam in Maryland next week. So if I wrote notes in pencil in my EET binders, this could be a problem? Do 3-ring binders also need covers?

    Quiz #30

    This makes sense to me.

    Quiz #30

No. Do people always go the speed limit??? You can't use that for the free flow speed. If the Field Measured Speed was 65 MPH, you could that as your FFS.

    Quiz #30

    I'm getting 3,866, treating this as a freeway. My steps: - Calculate FFS using FFS = 75.4 -Flw - Flc - 3.22TRD^(0.84) ^ I ended up using FFS = 70 MPH - Calculate Vp using Max Density for LOS C (26 pc/mi/ln) ^ Vp = 1820 pc/mi/ln - Calculate Fhv ^ Fhv = 0.833 Solve for V =...

EET Simulated Exam - Fall 2016

Average score in the morning was 68. I'm guessing the real test will be similar as far as difficulty, or at least I would that to be reasonable.

EET Simulated Exam - Fall 2016

I finished Breadth and Transportation Depth. Not as bad as I thought either, but harder than the NCEES exams in my opinion. Probably not as hard as Goswami's. I did not feel rushed for time.

    Cut Scores

I guess there is nothing wrong with giving a harder exam. As long as they keep passing rate relatively the same with adjusting the cut score.

    Cut Scores

Are you serious? Isn't the passing rate lower in October usually anyway?
