    Advice/How I passed/My Experience

When I went through the MERM in a month, the weekends were instrumental. I would go through several chapters each weekend. Keep in mind some chapters are very short and only have a couple problems. Keep pushing through it then work tons of problems. Good Luck!

    Advice/How I passed/My Experience

Reread my first post... "I would spend one month going through the MERM. This will be a rigorous month but you’ll need to read each chapter page by page and work all the problems except the 1 hour problems in chapters 14-58 & 69 and read only (do not work problems) in chapters 61, 62, 63...

    MERM practice problems book

The only way I would work the 1 hours problems is if I had worked all the other problems in the MERM and other books (ie. the three 6-minute solutions)

    Advice/How I passed/My Experience

The first month I spent about 20 hours per weekend and 4 hours per night going through the MERM. In the few months after that I would take some nights on the weekend off but not many. I had too many problems to work to take a lot of time off but it is important to take some time off.

    Advice/How I passed/My Experience

After I spent a month going through the MERM I had zero self confidence because I only got about 25% of them correct. Then I started working the other problems and over time I got to the point of getting about 90% of them correct. I NEVER moved on to the next problem unless I completely...

    Advice/How I passed/My Experience

Advice/How I passed/My Experience :2cents: I’ll update this thread as I try to recall the things I did to pass months ago. I took the HVAC afternoon in October 2009 and passed. :PASSED2: I took the exam and failed in 2006 even though I spent about 400 hours studying for the thing. It...

    MERM practice problems book

I skipped the 1 hour problems...most of them envole things you will not see on the exam. Skipping them gives you more time for shorter problems. Once you finish all the MERM non 1 hour problems then work all the 6 minute problem books and the sample exam. I read each chapter of the MERM...

    Testmasters

Work as many problems as possible. Work the MERM problems in the relevant chapters, the 6-minute solution problems, and the problems in the sample exams. Work all those problems and if you finish work them all again. I know this isn't the easy study method but this works every time! Review...

    NCEES Record

I'm getting my record set up now with NCEES. It is a pain but in the end I think it will save a lot of time. I have no idea if I will ever need a license in another state but in this mobile economy, I'm betting I will.

Well now that the PE is over...what's next???

I'm thinking now that I have passed the PE, I may join PMI and take the PMP exam. Has anyone done this or plan to do it? With what I'm doing here at work (mostly project management type stuff) I think it will be relatively easy. Any thoughts or advice? :juggle:
