It's only been 2 days....42 days to go?

Even though the computer knows the answer, the Board still goes through a procedure to determine if a question was fair or not. From what I heard, here is the general procedure. It may not be correct as I am going from memory based on how it was described to me a while back. The board first...

    ITT ABET accredited?

Can you call yourself an "Engineer" in front of others and on your business card? I don't know the rules, but in many states it maybe a protected title.  I agree with your assertion about knowing a person as in individual is more important than the college/diploma mill he/she attended...

CA Specific Exams - Oct 2016

Here is the same table assuming the passing grade is 55%. t= total number of questions n= number of questions  you think you answered correctly m= fraction of "n" that were really correct (m=0.75 is a starting guess) x=...

CA Specific Exams - Oct 2016

Here is a table that I created (based on an old posting). Basically, it is trying to predict the probability of passing based on questions you think you are worked out correctly. To be conservative, I am assuming that 75% of those are correct. Also, inside the table, I assumed that 25% of the...

How Long to Bust Up Some Concrete?

The top slab of a precast concrete manhole should be assumed to be 12" thick. Look at old shop drawings for square precast boxes, and it should give you an idea. In my opinion, it is one day's worth of work. You can't rent equipment for 1/2 day or hire a crew for 1/2 day. Assume that his crew...

Everything you wanted to know about the CA-Survey/Seismic Civil PE Exams

My recommendation will be to take EET's classes... I took their Seismic and can't say enough good things about the course and the instructor... Hiner just offers one CBT that you can take twice, while EET has three tests that can be taken multiple times... also they have two more paper tests...

Any good CA survey review class? Study hours?

Let's see how much time you need to study for surveying... This is based on the two surveying classes you took and assuming that you remember some of the basic stuff. Of course this is a rough estimate and it will be more (for old geezers like me) or less (possibly for the smart ones like you)...

Any good CA survey review class? Study hours?

I read somewhere that EET will be offering survey classes for Spring 2017. If that is the case, then go for that. Otherwise, my suggestion is to buy Reza's workbook and then sign up for the course at cpesr.com.  They have practice CBTs that are very helpful along with webinars. However, the...

CA Specific Exams - Oct 2016

They were trying to sign up now for October 2016 exams or for Spring 2017? Just curious because it seems to be a bit too late for the current session. I believe that access to the website ends after the current session exam window ends, so Spring 2017 sounds a little early. Anyway, sometimes it...
