    I did pass. I also spent a significant amount of time in the ASHRAE books. Did you do the six minute solutions and PPI practice test? They both have quite a few practice problems that would force you to practice using the ASHRAE books.

    I passed HVAC on my first try! Thanks Justin! I filled out the survey. I used the NCEES practice materials, all of the PPI stuff, plus your study guide and practice test. I can easily say your material was the best of them all, and just as representative of the exam as the NCEES practice test.

    December 8th release date

    When I took the FE in 2012, it was pencil and paper still and I was in there with people taking the PE. All results were released at the same time which was Friday Dec. 7th. It sounds like this pattern has been continuing so I'm going to bet Dec. 8th as well.

    Speed is held constant at 1750. I picked 380 gpm and looked at the head for each curve at that flow. P1=140, P2=90, D1=12, D2=?. I used 18.47 in the MERM, P2/P1=(D2/D1)^3 and solved for D2 to get 10.4 inches.

    Yes it's all just your discipline. HVAC test won't have any statics, material properties, machine design, etc... on the morning portion, and vice versa for the MDM, TFS tests. If you're taking the test on Friday, I'd say it's a little late in the game to be figuring this out now haha.
