    April 2019 TFS Exam

Took the 2016 NCEES exam in a simulated test environment, and I passed.  Going to do the Slay the PE Practice Exam this weekend and see how I do.

    April 2019 TFS Exam

I am finishing up the last book of the Slay The PE TFS bundle (HVAC).  I plan to spend the rest of the time knocking out as many practice test problems as I can.  I have the 2011 and 2016 NCEES exam, Slay the PE Exam, and thinking about  @justin-hawaii's exam if I master these three.

Which version of Engineering Unit Conversions by Lindeburg

I'm using the 1990 version and have not ran into a missing conversion yet and have been studying for the April exam since December.  If its missing a conversion, you can simply write it in.

Studying for 3rd FE Electrical Exam

Welcome! Study for the FE as if it was an actual test.  Have a pdf version of the manual up on your screen while you pound out practice problems.   You should be intimate with the reference manual!

My exam is at a hotel conference center.  I'm highly considering staying there the night before.

    One Month Out

    2. A little nervous I'm doing my first "mock exam" with the Slay the PE Practice Test this weekend.  I've already "mastered" the NCESS TFS Practice Exam and have spent the last month going through the Slay The PE TFS Bundle.  I plan to do (2) full 8 hour mock exams before the test.  Other than...

NECEES Mechanical PE Reference Manual Released

True that.  I haven't taken the test yet but I'm going through the Slay the PE test bundle and have already memorized most formulas and conversions needed for the PE exam... Once you truly understand the concepts, the NCEES questions are not that hard.  I started out with the 2016 NCEES practice...

    April 2019 TFS Exam

Finished the Fluids book from @Slay the P.E. and am now well into the Thermo book.  The fluids book definitely helped me gain a better understanding of the Fluids problems in the PE Exam.  It also cleared up the unnecessary confusion behind the g/gc presented by the MERM.

    April 2019 TFS Exam

Getting into the Fluids portion of the Slay The PE test prep and so far so good.  It starts out basic but I am finding that this helps me make sure I have the concepts right before getting into the more difficult problems.

I need some guidance on the Machine design and Materials PE exam!

This is correct from what i've seen too.  Generally, the rule of thumb is to aim for 70% (56/80).

Trying to pass FE Mechanical. Graduated 2 years ago.

Welcome! The only thing I would reccomend for the mechanical FE exam is the NCEES practice exam and the NCEES provided reference manual.

I need some guidance on the Machine design and Materials PE exam!

It sure is, although most of them are Civil engineers who use their degree daily.  I work in Electrical and am taking the Mechanical exam so naturally have to study harder.

I need some guidance on the Machine design and Materials PE exam!

Its not planned anymore, NCEES has announced that the exam will be computer based in 2020. I'm signed up to take the Mechanical TFS exam in April. You should be fine.  Just study as if you're only taking the exam once.  That's what I am doing.   I've had colleagues who have passed the exam...
