Failed the FE 7 times now - Need Help!

The PPI Quiz Bank is great! It allows you to select the subjects you want to be quizzed on and you can choose how many questions from each subject you want to see. I also used the PPI flashcards to make the fundamentals stick in my mind. The NCEES Practice FE Exam is the same exam each time you...

FE Exam Other Discipline - how well do you really need to know the FE Reference Handbook?

I didn't take the "Other Discipline" exam, I took the electrical exam, so I'm afraid I can't answer your question regarding what you should focus your study on; however, the reference manual you will use during the CBT is a searchable PDF, so if you get stuck, that's helpful. You should also...

Asking for a raise after passing the PE Exam.

Raise is automatic at my firm. They really value their engineers getting their PEs. They even reimburse 100% of all costs associated with preparing and taking the PE (contingent on passing, of course). They follow the same protocol for the FE, too.

    Civil: Construction PE Hopeful

Welcome and good luck!  I work for an A/E Firm (Electrical Engineer) and passed the PE last April. I'm thinking about getting a PMP myself, but still researching whether the cost/benefit ratio is high enough (my company won't pay for or reimburse the cost of it).

I failed the POWER PE Please Help!

Absolutely! I honestly feel that I passed because of your course. Keep at it it, Zach! Anyone taking your course would benefit from your course and your willingness to provide personal support.  I am not, in any way, devaluing other vendors or other courses; I'm simply relating my own...

    Certificate of Authorization - Alabama?

I talked to my manager today, and our home office (out of Atlanta) filed for the CA after they won ownership of our contract, but it's still in process by the State.  He was, however, as ignorant as I am about what it actually is, but he said whether they secure the CA or not won't affect any...

I did the same thing after finishing the course. Practicing under exam conditions cannot be overstated. Time management is key.

    Certificate of Authorization - Alabama?

Yes, that's exactly what the enclosed forms and FAQ page said, but it doesn't explain what the CA actually is... My question is what is the CA? Telling me why my employer needs it does not answer the question of what it is. Does that make sense? Is my employer required to secure a CA for every...

    Certificate of Authorization - Alabama?

After receiving my letter from the State, it says that my employer must submit an application for a Certificate of Authorization (CA) within 30 days of my being Licensed. If they don't submit the application, they are in violation of Alabama Code and can be punished. My question: What is this...

I failed the POWER PE Please Help!

I used one of the vendors here, @Electrical PE Review, for my review course. The videos are prerecorded and the written material is concise. His website is laid out very well and each module concludes with a quiz to test comprehension and retention. The instructor (Zach Stone) was very...

Electrical PE Exam - Apr. 2017

I feel you. Your summary is a perfect description of mine. Yup; your experience copied my experience here, too! I bet your study binder was more useful than you give it credit for. Actually creating a study binder yourself lends you a better understanding of the material you wrote down in that...

Electrical PE Exam - Apr. 2017

I want to congratulate all of us who passed the Power PE. A guy with one single post claims to have passed with a copy of the NEC and one other reference. I call BS on that.

    Electrical and Electronics PE Exam

I didn't take your exam (Electrical and Electronics Exam), but I did pass the Power PE Exam. The advice I'd offer is as follows: Understand the foundation (read: understand all of the foundational "need-to-know" topics; I feel like they bank on you over-thinking the topics). So you can make a...

    Electrical and electronics NCEES specs

NEC & NESC are important for the Power PE Exam; I have no opinion on this subject regarding the electronics PE Exam, though I can't imagine a realistic scenario where you'd use the NEC or the NESC for this exam. That's just my opinion - other people's opinions may vary. Consider my...
