What's the Work From Home situation?

One of the things they talked about was doing a hybrid work week with people staggered throughout the week. They asked for my opinion a lot because I was the only one who was 1) still new, and 2) had the benefit of working in the office before we started teleworking. We've got a really good...

And so it begins.... For those that don’t have the pleasure, this is the year for the big cicada uprising. They’re 2-3” long and look creepy as f-. Despite the look, fortunately, they’re harmless. We had a chilly spell for a while so they’re a little late coming out, the ground temp has to get...

What's the Work From Home situation?

We had three new guys start several months after we’d already gone telework full time...shoot, I’d only been there about two months when we were sent home. Still not as good as being in the office, but we’re making pretty good use of Zoom, Webex, and soon, Google Teams.

What's the Work From Home situation?

Been working at home since March 16, 2020 (Gov’t). Ohio is set to go back to business as usual on June 2nd, but the talk has been to keep working from home because we’re still producing well

    Baseball 2021

Got a bonus last night. One of the not-so-great spots is family parking. Basically a section of the parking garage reserved for players’ families to park when they come to games. Boring, but not gonna lie, the scenery is not bad when the wives show up. I’ve only had to work there once before...

    2019 Novel Coronavirus

Except that it is coming from his (ex-)wife and implies that all his philanthropy was done to show the world what a great guy he is while hiding the fact that he's a dirtbag/*********.

Graduated in May 2020 and still no job

Are you locked in to a location? Always jobs on usajobs.gov even for new grads and especially if you're open to different locations.

Travel!! Where are you headed; Where do you want to go? Where have you been?

I’ve used it. For about the same cost to rent some econo-box at your typical airport car rental place, I was able to get a Tesla.

    Home Improvement/Repair Questions

I hope so. I added a few toys so I wanted to build a gun cabinet so I can lock up my new goodies. Nice plywood is up to $70 a sheet.

    The Pet Thread

She can be so dumb sometimes. We got one of those cheesy self-closing magnetic screen doors on the back door. She loves it cause she can go outside whenever she wants. And then she sits at the front door and barks to be let back in?!?! You know, that screen door works both ways.

    Home Improvement/Repair Questions

It's starting to get a bit better here. Local shop is getting more in which is starting to bring prices back down from the stratosphere, i.e. 5.56 was $18/box a few weeks ago, but now it's down to $11. Watched a report on YT about Remington ramping back up so it's going to keep getting better.

    Home Improvement/Repair Questions

Had heard part of it is a supply/demand issue. With housing going nuts, builders are trying to crank out houses as fast as they can. Also heard that people were using the pandemic as an excuse to do more renovating.

Also, just got word that capacity is being bumped up too. Only from 30% to 40%, but at least it’s something. For all the ranting and raving people were doing about playing their baseball to a full house, have there been any spikes in Texas?

    Baseball 2021

Usually when they do a road trip that far from home, they string together several series in cities in a similar region. I’m not sure where else they were, but I do know they go back to AZ after the game tomorrow so we were the end of their road trip. Could be they were far enough out that the...

    Baseball 2021

So, first of all, snow at the end of April is ********. Unfortunately it started as pouring rain while the Reds/Diamondbacks were in the top of the 8th inning. If they'd stopped it half an inning sooner, between innings, then they may have called it but since they didn't so they waited forever...

    Home Improvement/Repair Questions

I really should get a gas weed eater with a brush cutter cause I’m sure it’d get plenty of use. Mine died years ago and I replaced it with an 18V Ryobi trimmer since I already had the other tools/batteries. It works great for routine trimming around the house, but doesn’t have enough nuts to...

    Home Improvement/Repair Questions

Worked on making the yard a liiiittle bit bigger this weekend. That dirt spot used to look like the overgrown stuff next to it. Still hard to tell, but that’s along our little creek. I want to clean up along the edge of the creek too so it can get some sun and look nicer, but I want to get some...
