    The Automotive Thread

It's here! It's here! Bit of a white knuckle drive getting it home from the storage place where it was at because we weren't able to take the time to get the weight distribution hitch adjusted right, but it's "only" 8-9k pounds so the F350 is more than enough. The wife is going to go to town...

    The Pet Thread

Apparently, someone is too dumb to come in out of the rain. He's an inside cat but he decided to "build" himself a door in the window screen in our bedroom.

    The Automotive Thread

It's like I have to explain to my kids all the time, do you really think Walmart has a factory somewhere that makes car batteries or that they get someone else's more expensive batteries and slaps their sticker on it?

    The Automotive Thread

Broke down and put new batteries, yes plural, in the truck yesterday. Diesel takes two batteries so it's a nice hit to the wallet, but figured I better if were going to be towing a lot. I had been nursing along the old ones with a charger/conditioner, but they were definitely on their last...

    Baseball 2022

Well, so far so good, but it's only been two games. Showed up for (our) Opening Day and I was back at the visitor's clubhouse. That in itself was a change because, even when everything was getting back to normal last year, they still had the clubhouses curtained off so we unclean couldn't get...

It snowed today. We may need to get him tested.

    ~~**-- The Weather Thread --**~~

First day of spring a couple weekends ago. Easter this coming weekend. Today was the day to pick the boat up from the storage place. SURE….WHY NOT SNOW?!?!

    Baseball 2022

I did all my orientation stuff for the year, but I'm still on the fence about going back to the Reds. Used to be there were yellow shirts (up at the gates and stands dealing with drunken idiots) and there were red shirts (down in the tunnel or on the field...basically anywhere...

    The Pet Thread

In Hamilton County, chickens are allowed (just no roosters) so I guess our boujie township tried to deter people by not allowing chicken coops. Now there are just people with "sheds" with little chicken sized doors. This past year when we were back in the woods getting stuff set up for our...

    Taxes...and the headaches they cause

From what I've read, they're still fighting about our income tax from 2020, but I'm not going to count on getting any more of that back. Next year could be interesting too because no matter what the courts decide, both sides (the cities and the anti-tax people) have already said they're going...

    Random Topics 3.1

We live in the 'burbs, but not terribly far out...you can see downtown from the top of next street over. We are in a unique situation where we have 2 acres of woods and there's 250 acres that is undeveloped behind that. Our neighborhood is like a frickin' Disney movie. Never actually seen any...

    Taxes...and the headaches they cause

Supposedly, they can take our $$$ because we are downtown using city "amenities" which is fine unless we're working from home. For any other year, I've got a spreadsheet that I can just punch in the number of days I wasn't in the office and it gives me the numbers I need to do the refund form...

    Taxes...and the headaches they cause

Cincinnati is ~1.82% so it's not terrible, but still a couple $K over the course of a year. Even the Hamilton County Auditor is suing the city for "taxation without representation" because his office is in Cincinnati but his home is not. Not only was he working from home, he couldn't go in...

    Taxes...and the headaches they cause

Finally got my tax refund from the City of Cincinnati today, but what a PITA. So, even though I don't live within the city limits, they still deduct local taxes from my paycheck because I work in the city (even though they want my $$$ to pay for city "stuff", I am not allowed to vote to have...

    The Automotive Thread

When we had to fix the sanitary at the house I had them add a cleanout since we didn't have one before. I'm not sure we could get there by gravity, but if not, a macerator could be in the future. The biggest issue is that it doesn't have an awning. It had one but it disappeared at some point...

    The Automotive Thread

They were both on shift last night so this morning they went by the storage place so the wife could take a look at the camper and Facetimed me for a bit too. Looks like everything is in pretty good shape...the pictures looked good, really good for a 2006, but it looked just as good in person...

Belongs to a friend of hers at work. She didn’t actually buy it yet, but she already did all the bank stuff and told the guy we wanted it contingent on taking a look at it and making sure it’s as good as the pictures look.

Sometimes you just need to scream!!!

I took Thermodynamics when I was a sophomore…usually it’s a Jr/Sr class. Found out my fraternity brother was going to be teaching the class. No special treatment, but he would ask me about the class because everyone was doing so badly. He was fine, it was just a really hard class…everyone in the...

Sometimes you just need to scream!!!

We paid attention and we still did the homework and everything so we knew the material...cell phones weren't even a thing yet so it's not like we had anything else to do in class...but when your exams are such a huge chunk of your final grade, you're going to make sure you get them right.
