@Chattaneer PE,  what situation we can use the voltage drop equation in complex number?   Vdrop =(R+jXL)(I<theta) ? 

If I see a problem with Wye-3phase-3w system, I usually covert it to delta so that VL will be equal to Vphase. But for this problem, the configuration at the source does not matter weather it is a Wye or a Delta.

For a Wye 3 phase-3 Wire system, Phase-to-Phase Voltage is equal to the Line voltage.  But Phase-to-Phase Voltage is never equal to sqrt of 3 time Phase Voltage.

@Chattaneer PE,  I can't seem to get the correct answer (which is letter C) using this formula. Am I using this one wrong?

@Cram For The PE, was this problem in one of your books? I can't seem to find it though.  :(   Also the electronics (bridge diode) that you posted previously....

The question says that the conductor is insulated, temperature rating of 75 degrees, routed in a raceway, and connected to a 480V load. That being said, you will need to use Table 310.15(B)(16). And that table is specifically based on Ambient Temperature of 30 Degree Celsius.

@ItsStudyTime! ,those setup were inspired by you, though.😂 . Followed your study setup and the index style. The problems are not really repetitive. There  just too many articles and subtopics I added in there just to make sure to kill each of the problems on the PE exam. 😊

Those big binders are my practice worked problems and references from different resources. :)    Yes. all those codes you mentioned are in a separate binder(located on the top left) together with my NESC 2017 . :)  

My references are not in the milk crate yet. I might going to get a storage bin rather than a milk crate because of these big loads I have right now.😂😂😂

I took volume 1 and 2 already and they are all different problems. I will take the volume 3 this coming weekend and I bet this will be different too, as per the author of the book @Cram For The PE. two thumbs up for him.👍👍

This problem also bugs me since I think that the solution was incorrect. At the first place, the conductor ampacity table  should be referred to T310.15(B)(17) since the problem says "single insulated", and yes the FLC should be multiplied by 1.25 per Article 430.22. 180x1.25=225A (#2/0 AWG)...
