I took the general. I had been out of school for a while, and did not feel as comfortable with the mech questions.

haha! I have not been to the site in a while... but since I was in the exam until the bitter end... it is kinda how it was... a few sad, beat up, dis-heartened people scattered around the room.

I read almost the whole book, although I am not sure that helped me out too much. I did solve as many problems as possible, and tabbed all the tables, formulas, etc that I thought I might need for easy reference. The NCEES practice test was good too-

White with blue lettering-- I was so unhappy by the time the exam was over... I left it behind. Although maybe the most expensive pencil I ever bought, I have no regrets that it only had an 8-hour life.

Not being in design, I think my stamp will go forever unused...

I will not receive an instant increase for passing the PE, but I do know that it opens doors for me within the company that were previously closed (managers need a PE), so still well worth the effort!

I started keeping track of my time, but there were too many hours and I gave up... I studied 8-10 hours Sat and Sun, and 3 hours as many weeknights I could manage. I started about 4 months before the exam-- Good luck!

The sooner you can take it the better-- I would give it a try in the fall. I also agree that it will be easier before the little ones start running around all the time!!
