PASS THAT EXAM DO NOT GIVE UP. NEVER EVER GIVE UP.

I know the feeling all too well. I did the most thorough studying I had ever done early last year and when I got the exam, there was so much of it that was completely out of left field that I asked several other people who had passed how to figure it out and they were stumped.. I've come to...

    Exam Mock-Ups / Studying Advice

I just got my results that I did not pass. It's very confusing/ frustrating as I had taken many practice exams, drilled the concepts to where I was getting in the 70% and greater range on the NCEES and Engineer pro guide exam.. there was just a bunch of hypothetical qualitative type questions...

    Anyone get results yet today?

Got my results earlier today. Did not pass.. It's become a routine announcement for myself for the past several times unfortunately.. Hopefully your buddy has good news.

    Single line to ground fault

What's the best way to memorize the fault symmetrical components formulas? the reference guide gives us very basic fault diagrams with no real values.. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

NCEES RESULTS ARE OUT! POST YOUR RESULTS!

Thank you guys for the words of encouragement. I seem to be getting close with each diagnostic, (a good sign), now it's just a matter of putting in way more time than I think necessary to nail down the areas still somewhat weak. It's definitely a tough pill to swallow, but I will keep going...

NCEES RESULTS ARE OUT! POST YOUR RESULTS!

I'll be the first to post about my results with bad news, unfortunately did not pass. Congrats to all who did. I'll be one of the first who failed both the pencil and computer exams.. :(

NCEES Released Power PE CBT Pass Rates

That can also be the case, maybe the sample size is just too small right now. The exam just started being available last month so the sample size is still fairly low to get a good estimate. Overall though you are right, the flexibility may lead some to just take it and see what happens type of...

NCEES Released Power PE CBT Pass Rates

I don't think that's the case. Having taken the pencil and paper multiple times, I can tell you many factors that contribute to that percentage differentiation. There are many that signed up to take the pencil and paper exam who just "wing" it and even though they haven't prepared, they might...

    PE Power New CBT Exam

I just took it this past weekend, and all I had was my driver's license, so yes I know the paranoia and anxiety well but don't fret on that. Just bring a calculator, your ID, and all your brain cells firing on all cylinders :). Overall this experience was a lot less stressful than the pencil and...

Power - CBT vs Paper/Pencil Exam

I have taken the pencil and paper one multiple times and just took the cbt this past weekend. I think the reason the pass rate is higher is because you're eliminating a lot of carefree test takers. $225 is easier to swallow to "wing" a test compared to $375 now for CBT. Also, I felt the exam was...

    PE Exam CBT site questions(COVID-19)

I just took it yesterday here in SoCal. Anaheim to be exact. They made me wash my hands before I went in, mask on all time, and disinfectant on the desk, keyboard, etc. There was only about 7 other people in the room with me. We were more than 6 ft apart. I definitely didn't feel any sense of...

    PE Power New CBT Exam

Thank you all for your insight. This will be my 5th attempt after 4 pencil and paper exams and 2 cancelled this year. I will be taking it January 8. I have just been trying to understand more concepts as every iteration of the exam can change greatly for me. Congrats to all that passed.  I have...

    October 2020 Exams

Thanks for this, I didn't see the new exam spec but that makes sense that all the code books are now available via PDF on exam day.  Another thing I just saw is the registration cost went up significantly. for the pencil and paper it was $350 now it's $413 with tax..  Strange times, we will...

    October 2020 Exams

I got the email as well. My big question is, how is the depth of the exam going to be different since we can no longer bring any reference material? The huge code books, sample problems, transmission, etc?? So many unknowns, I'm going to wait until I get the refund, and then re-register for the...

    Oct 2019 - Failing scores

I feel like I studied about the same, with similar material. I took Zach's course twice for Oct 2018 and Apr 2017 and I thought both those times I had it in the bag and ended up doing about the same 40/80, 42/80. I personally know of someone passing the test with maybe 2 weekends of "studying"...
