Help selecting PE Discipline - ME: Thermal/Fluids or CE: WR/Enviro.

My undergrad was Chemical Engg., no question in my mind that Civil WRE is much easier than Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, etc. Also, since you now work in the water industry, it would be make the most sense and be more applicable. If you are comfortable with hydraulics, water...

Compare PE Civil 10/2016 and 04/2017 exams

I think it's a fair question. Nothing wrong in being inquisitive, it's what makes us engineers. Ofcourse it's obvious the preparation shouldn't be based on trying to find any 'trends'. I am sure everybody has varying experiences about the exam, but I felt the Oct'16 WRE exam was a little more...

    North Carolina is Out!

It's strange that they allow to take the test without an approved application. But I guess it has it's advantages, I almost missed the test because my FE scores weren't sent in time from the NY board.

    Guidance for moving towards PE

Maybe you could instead apply (board acceptance is easy) and give the exam in CT and apply for reciprocity in MA after? Though requirements for reciprocity may be same/equally draconian and CT licensing cost is high.

    Guidance for moving towards PE

The foreign degree requires evaluation from NCEES (another step and more money), prior to application. BSC is a three year degree vs engineering so that might be another challenge in the evaluation. Unless the Masters is from the US.

    Guidance for moving towards PE

I know Mass has some pretty detailed requirements. I believe they require documents/reports/etc. to be sent in along with the application (As you may already know). To the question of what areas/projects would qualify and the exact nature of the documentation, hopefully someone who has gone...

    Questions about Goswami Practice Exam

Always an engineer that covers all possibilities :)  . I didn't find breadth problems to consume more than 3-4 steps/lines, if that. Unless you write 2 inches high, running out of space is not a possibility. For WRE depth, for me there were maybe 3-4 problems that ran close on space, but plenty...

    CT?

Thanks for the info. Yes, CT license annual fees is twice most other states biennial or triennial fees!  Ridiculous. And only if they could use some of the monies to speed up the process. More than a month from the results and only 1/3 of the time in, of the 65 business days promised to get the...

    Questions about Goswami Practice Exam

Yes, adhere as close as possible to the exam specifications, unless you have loads of time and an insatiable quest for learning :). The previous exam specifications only had horizontal and vertical curves and traffic volume (traffic mix, flow, speed), no friction and super elevation topics...

    CT?

Damn, that's 3 months after results. Guess the PE still manages to throw wrinkles in the scheme of things.

    CT?

Thank you. And thank you for the heads up, that really does suck to have to wait for a couple months. I gave Barbara a call and she nicely told me they were busy processing applications for Fall 2016 (more than 100 received already), so essentially it meant sending out the licensing package is...

    NCEES April 2017 Pass Rates

Maybe I had the wrong figures, I was going from memory for the last two exams as I was following at the time.

What PE review course is the best for PE Civil WRE?

EET for WRE Depth. Unquestionably. It is extremely well structured, with all the information you would need, so much so, I passed with studying only for 3-weeks. Nazrul is great. For breadth, I wouldn't necessarily recommend EET, but it's probably better than just self-study, if you feel the...

    NCEES April 2017 Pass Rates

Agreed, that's what is known about the scoring process. But the question still remains, how are the cut scores always such that exactly 70 percent people pass WRE every year?

    NCEES April 2017 Pass Rates

Not sure how WRE is always constant at 70%, repeat takers is definitely higher at 42%, think it was around 30% for Fall 2016.
