My 2 cents, the real exam will be harder than the NCEES practice test so make sure you score good in 6 mins, and probably Lindeburg which is tougher than real exam.
I think you should try it. It is harder than the real exam but be sure that real exam will be harder than NCEES sample test. I took Lindbergh exam two days before the april test (26/40 morning, 31/40 afternoon) and passed. This together with 6 m solution will help.
I recently passed PE-HVAC and have the following books to sell.
1. NCEES practice test New ($30)
2. NCEES old practice test (Depth session only) [$40]
3. 6 mins solution (All three) ($130)
4. Lindeberg practice exam ($30)
5. FULL HVAC with morning practice exam (another one) ($15)
6. All 4...

Well, I studied for 3 months, around 2-3 hrs each day. Weekends 8-10 and took final 2 weeks off from work to get ready for finale. I just wanted to finish it in my first attempt.
I took HVAC & Refrigeration. Morning was not too bad. Afternoon was okay, it had quite a few theoretical questions which I was not expecting. We will come to know by the end of next month.
Great!! I also called Castle and they said it is fine to write by pencil in the book however one cannot write anything anywhere but in the exam book during the test.
