I recently took the PE exam Power option in Michigan and failed. My lowest score was in the Transmission and Distribution section. Does anybody know of a really good book to study from or have any advice on how to study for that section?

I'm planning on taking it again in the spring of 2011.

Thanks!

Judy

There is some decent information in Power System Analysis by Grainger & Stevenson. This book does not focus only on Transmission though.

I think the crux of understanding that subject is mastering the per unit method. The Chelapati book has some good material on that, so does the Schaum's Outline on Power Systems. Practice it until you are comfortable with the concept. The Grainger and Stephenson book that was mentioned also gives some good examples.

Have you considered re-taking the test in October 2010?
